Judy sighed as Clover bounced over to Breeze, her hare familiar clearly lacking any respect for boundaries. Breeze trilled a happy response, and pushed his deep grey beak against Clover’s, while Piper smiled down at them.
Judy felt a warmth grow in her at Piper’s smile, and at seeing their familiars interact so joyfully.
With a cautious hum, she waved at Piper, a subtle movement the journalist just caught and started to return before Nat, and an excitable Paige, nearly bowled her over.
Shaun and Pa came over more sedately, and the pair left, just as Piper finished her wave.
