Summary
Qiu Dingjie, the cold and formidable Sovereign of the Dead, despises the sickening debauchery of the Upper Realm gods. Forced to attend a banquet thrown by his depraved brother, Dingjie seeks only to return to his silent starless abyss. But on his way, he discovers a profound anomaly. A breathtaking unblemished boy named Xing, hidden away in a warded sunlit sanctuary.
Xing is the very embodiment of spring and innocence, kept in strict isolation by his mother. The danger he faces is horrifying. If the vile King of the Gods discovers Xing's ethereal beauty, the boy will become just another broken conquest in a twisted game of godly excess.
Determined to terrify the boy into remaining safely hidden, Dingjie confronts Xing, unleashing the suffocating freezing shadows of his deathly realm. He expects the boy to weep and flee.
But Xing doesn’t run.
Instead, he smiles at the abyss. Captivated by the dark, and completely unafraid of the lethal god before him.
To save the boy's life, Dingjie knows he must push him away and never return. But how do you protect a boy made of light when he is already hopelessly drawn to the dark?
