    Summer of 1929. Valentin Baker had been transferred to a new department in Manhattan. A tiny police station that worked as hard as a rusted nail inside a wall—in other words: Overworked cops who carried too much weight of crimes and cases they could not handle.

    The unsolved mysteries decayed in a dusty archive, and the fate of Manhattan's missing people remained unknown.

    Yet the lack of discipline did not deter Detective Victor Brown. When Valentin was assigned to be trained by Victor, the detective recognised the potential. Though the deeper they dug, and the more tangled they get into the cases—the more complicated things became.
