Summary
“There is no way that we will secure an alliance with the Dragon King without giving up some of our lands,” one of the lords said.
“Under normal circumstances, certainly,” Uther responded with a wave of his hand dismissing the lord’s worries. “But if the king owes Camelot then we can strike whatever deal we wish!”
There were a few murmurs of confusion around the table.
“But your majesty, the King does not owe Camelot.”
“Not yet,” Uther responded, a dark glint entering his eyes as he spoke. “But the new king is a young alpha, unmated. As you all know, young alphas struggle to control themselves, especially around an omega in heat.
“We will place Arthur in the seat beside the young King at the welcome banquet. Arthur will be given something to induce his heat, and Nimueh will put a spell on the space to intensify the prince’s instincts. Even the most controlled of alphas would break under the combination of an attractive, fertile thing in heat and such a spell. He won’t be able to help himself.”
