It’s been about a day since Purple and Red have defeated imposter Green and they were barely holding up to the demands of the ship. Right now they are in navigation just watching the ships steering and the asteroids.
“Red..” “yes Purps” “ I miss everyone” “Me too Purps… Me too”
They sat in silence as they both thought back to when the crew was still alive, not aware that the ghost of everyone was watching.
Purple got up with a huff and looked around the room, not knowing what to do they started walking around and looking at everything when something caught their visor.
It looked like a safe just without a lock on it. “Hey Red what’s this?” Red turned from their spot and looked “oh that, Thats where backups are stored like medkits, and extra wires” Purple looked back at the cabinet and decided to open it.
Looking around the cabinet there wasn’t much to talk about. It was filled with mainly junk but as they were about to close it they saw something red under a set of extra cables. As they took it out they realized it was a copy of the handbook Red had.
“Red, did you ever finish reading that handbook before throwing it out?” Now confused Red whipped their head over to look at what Purple was holding. “No I couldn’t bother to read past the alien page” Purple looked back at the handbook before Red spoke up again “ Just trash it Purps, it didn’t help us at all… It’s useless”. Red had stated as they turned back to mope about their dead crew.
“Let me at least skim through it, just in case there is anything else Mira didn’t bother to tell us” Purple had decided. Flipping through the first 100 or so pages there was nothing useful but as they passed the aliens are real page they found a set of protocols that were weird to say the least. “ What kind of protocol needs a scientist ?” Purple had asked to no one but as they looked at more they found a very odd protocol called protocol -4 “ what kind of sicko miss counts like this?” Purple asked out loud but as they read the protocol they stilled. Red saw the shift in Purple's behavior and got up worried of what they could have found that made them this shocked.
“Purple is everything okay?” Purple didn’t answer, they couldn’t, not after what they had just found out. Red concerned looked at the page and froze as they read it.
Protocol -4: “Start Over” if your entire crew is dead and the imposters have been dealt with hit the hidden switch under the emergency button and hit the button to call a meeting where all the ghost of the dead crew will come back and be revived, the crewmates who died to ejections might take a bit longer to revive. (Mira Revival Switch can’t bring back crewmates that died of old age, or illness)
Purple stood there frozen. They couldn’t believe it, Mira knew how to revive Crewmates by a switch and a button… A SWITCH AND A BUTTON!!!
Purple was Furious at this, why wasn’t this and the alien thing the first thing in the handbook? Why wasn’t this common knowledge? What else is Mira hiding?
All these thoughts were spinning around in Purple’s head, they almost didn’t notice Red had started running to the cafeteria. Purple got up and rushed off to follow Red.
They reached the cafeteria in huffs and looked at the emergency button. Purple picked it up and looked underneath it…. There was a sticky note folded up that read “ emergency revival switch”... Purple reading it, took the sticky note and threw it across the room. “MIRA I SWEAR I’LL TAKE YOU DOWN!!” Purple yelled out “okay Purps calm down, we gotta see if this actually works” Red said as they pointed at the device in Purple’s hand. “You're right… wanna do the honors Captain” Purple asked with a sly tone in their voice. Read looked at the switch then at Purple and huffed "Together” Red stated “Together” Purple answered back.
Purple flipped the switch and put the button in the middle of the table, both looking at it, they put their hands together and smacked the button.
The button glowed green with a weird sound coming out of it. Both stepping back as they witness the ghost of their crew slowly coming visible…
