It's In His Kiss

Summary:

Oh god. It’s his first kiss and he’s just been standing here! Like a freak! Is Edgar weirded out? Is Edgar going to stop kissing him? Is he–

Holy shit. Edgar is kissing him.

Work Text:

Sam doesn’t get a lot of warning, before Edgar grabs him by the face and kisses him.

In fact, Sam doesn’t really believe it. Just stands there, waiting for the world to make sense of what clearly isn’t, couldn’t be, can’t be happening,

It’s actually Alan, making loud disgusted retching noises from somewhere behind his brother, that makes Sam realize hey, this is real. The sound of Alan’s combat boots trails off as he stomps his way towards the car, and Sam’s brain kicks back to life.

Oh god. It’s his first kiss and he’s just been standing here! Like a freak! Is Edgar weirded out? Is Edgar going to stop kissing him? Is he–

Holy shit. Edgar is kissing him.

He gets hyper after a successful mission, that’s not new. And sometimes, sure! There’s a little bit of shoving Sam’s shoulder, or wrapping an arm around his head and tugging him close, and once even hopping up on Sam’s back like he wanted a celebratory piggy-back. What he got instead was both of them toppling over onto the dirt, since Sam probably couldn’t carry him even if he hadn’t been ambushed and was a little winded from putting down yet another monster but. Edgar didn’t seem to mind.

Oh wow. Sam’s been pretty effectively ambushed now, and Edgar doesn’t seem to mind.

Sam doesn’t know what to do. He closes his eyes, that seems like. A good idea. Edgar’s mouth is soft against his, and he smells nice. He’s a little sweaty from running but so is Sam, and he’s a little dirty from when they’d all tumbled down that hill back there but so is Sam, and he still smells like the new cologne that he’s been wearing all week, the one that kind of smells like vanilla but in like, a guy way, and he asked Sam if he thought it smelled good, oh shit maybe he’s been thinking about this for longer than Sam realized and how did he–

Sam! Focus! In a panic, Sam wraps his arms around Edgar’s waist. Edgar makes a noise against his lips, so that seems to work. Sam figures it’s about time he gets a little more involved in this, so he experimentally opens his lips against Edgar’s.

Sam’s brain whites out as Edgar eagerly presses into him, hands sliding away from Sam’s face as he puts his arms around Sam’s neck, bringing them closer in together.

And Sam’s kissing him back. Sam forgets to panic about anything, as his arms tighten around Edgar and he feels Edgar’s chest swell against his. He laughs into Edgar’s mouth deliriously, as heat rushes across his face and down his spine, a little late to the party but making up for lost time. He fists his hands tightly in the slippery fabric of Edgar’s windbreaker, trying desperately to get a little purchase here in this moment that’s going smooth and slippery all around him.

Edgar pulls back, eventually, with a dopey, soft smile. Usually it takes him hours to calm down after a mission, but this– it’s like kissing Sam just unwound everything in him. Like that’s all it took.

“Uh,” Edgar clears his throat. “It’s better to ask forgiveness than permission, right?”

“Wrong,” Sam says automatically, shaking his head with a sigh. But then, his hand tightens in Edgar’s jacket, pulling him briefly closer. “Is that what you’re doing? Right now?”

It’s dark in this abandoned warehouse, but Sam could swear Edgar is blushing. “Maybe,” Edgar says.

“Well, which one?” Sam dares to reach up, brushing a few dark curls back and out of Edgar’s eyes. “Forgiveness or permission?”

Edgar closes his eyes as Sam tucks some of his hair back behind his ear, fingertips brushing gently against the shell of it.

“Both,” he confesses on an unsteady exhale. “Yeah, both.”

Sam lets his hand rest on the side of Edgar’s neck, feeling his pulse pound against his palm. Strong, and steady. Just like Edgar.

“Then, yeah.”

Edgar lets out a soft sound of relief, but then his eyes fly open. “Yeah? Wait–yeah to which?”

Sam grins, and leans in even closer, brushing his lips across Edgar’s.

“Both,” he says. And he kisses Edgar again.
