Ilya sat on the floor of his closet contemplating the likelihood of getting robbed if he packed all of the jewelry he had laid out in front of him.
He had tried to pull out only the pieces he remembered getting for something significant. The black and gold pendant necklace he’d gotten to match the ring he’d given Shane in the hospital. A set of brass anklets he’d gotten before the All Stars game but left at home. Rings and arm cuffs and chains of various lengths, peppered with precious stones, sat in piles around him. Velvet boxes opened to show their contents sat propped on surrounding shelves. The jewelry box he’d bought last year to hold the ever expanding collection was completely unfolded to show even more bangles and rings and chains.
From deep in the box Ilya pulled out a silver bangle slightly tarnished with age. The first piece he’d ever bought for Shane.
He had his starting place. He pulled the matching gold bangle, picked an arm cuff at random. A face chain with similar filigree as the bangles. Gold lobe cuffs and a silver cartilage cuff with a dangling 24 charm. He took a hard look at a pair of clamp-on nipple rings with dangling 81s all encrusted with diamonds and decided that might be too much.
He stood to reach the box he knew held a harness made of delicate chains dotted with diamonds and rubies meant to wrap around an omega’s neck and torso. He also picked up the box with the matching belt that would fall over the hips with cascading chains that would connect to thigh cuffs.
Thigh cuffs being the only piece Ilya hadn’t bought because there was just no way for him to estimate how thick Hollander’s thighs would be at any given point of the season. He planned to get measurements at the cottage. Shane’s cottage. That he was going to... He needed a measuring tape.
