   Summary

   My own AU of what happens after the events of Sonic the Hedgehog 3...

   The leaves of low hanging branches rustle loudly as Sonic zips past them. His vision finally frees up from the relentless greenery as he skids to a stop when he reaches a clearing that he knew well from past late night runs. Sonic shakes away a couple stray leaves caught on his quills, the stubborn ones not budging— to which Sonic does not notice.

   Sweat clings to his skin beneath his fur— a feeling he has become accustomed to after his whole life of running. The wind chills the moisture sitting between his coat pleasantly.

   …

   ..but Sonic finds it hard to enjoy these simple pleasures lately.
