For Augustellar Day 14: Radiation Damage

Why does the cover art for this podfic have a possum in a purple hat on a rocket with the ARSE (Australian Research and Space Exploration - a joke space agency) logo on it flying past Adrian? Good question. The possum is named Vegemite. She was our team mascot for Voiceteam 2026, and we decided as a team to hide her on every cover art one of us made during Voiceteam.

Why is the intro/outro music Mind War from Babylon 5? ...also because of Voiceteam 2026.

Why is this podfic being made as part of Augustellar when I'm talking about the cover art and intro/outro music choices I made back in May? Basically, during Voiceteam we had a challenge to create a podfic of something that was posted to ao3 within 24 hours of it being posted. I had already received permission from RandomPerson83338 to podfic this amazing fic, and so I recorded Chapter 19... at midnight...because it was posted at 5am my time the day challenges dropped and I wanted to record it for that challenge. One of the mod dares was to have someone from our family help us make a podfic, so I asked my dad to pick the intro/outro music - it's from his favourite TV show.

I hadn't come back to do the rest of the podfic because of other commitments and generally being busy. Until now! So, I've recorded Chapter 1 for Augustellar, and I'll continue to chip away at this podfic over time.
