Summary
Kenner and Murata get kidnapped, then poisoned, and Chris is playing hero again. Things go downhill from there.
“You're my partner, Chris.” Johnny shook his head dejectedly. “At least you were till today.”
“Yeah, well, you are my partner too,” Kenner's voice dropped, notes of steel cutting through the air like a katana. “Ever think of that? One of us had to make it out of there alive. And if I gave you half the dose like you suggested, chances were we'd both drop dead. I wasn't gonna let that happen.”
Johnny was about to launch into another tirade when Kenner interrupted him: “And no, I don't regret my decision. If I could do it all again, I wouldn't change a God damn thing.”
He looked him dead in the eye. “Clearly, you cannot handle that, so...”
Kenner drifted off, and this time Johnny butted in: “So what, you thought ditching me would be the next logical step?”
Kenner shrugged, and Johnny's anger returned, twice as strong. He marched toward his partner, forcing him to retreat till his back was pressed against the wall.
