I cannot promise that you will never feel lost again, I cannot promise that you will never fall, will never stumble, will never surrender yourself to your demons because I can’t promise any of that. As much as I desperately want to. But what I can promise is that you are mine, that I will never surrender you without a fight, that when you think you’ve given up I will always try to find a way to bring you back to me.” He paused, then added, “You are mine. And I will always fight for you, fight beside you, fight when you can’t. Always remember that.” He kissed him again, just lightly brushing his lips against Grantaire’s forehead. “I love you.”
