Memories (or the lack of them)

Summary:

Heimlich reflects on his time at the lab so far.

Work Text:

Heimlich had been in the lab for as long as he could to remember, which was only about a year. Levi had found him injured and fixed him up from what he’d been told, the details didn’t really matter much to him. He had stayed in the lab since, it’s not like he had anywhere else to really be. He had been made Levi’s assistant, his chief henchman, the front man of his plans. And Levi was, well Levi was pretty much his everything if was honest. They were always together, no wonder it took so little time to develop a crush. After a few months they were flirting like wild fire, after a few months Heimlich was sure he was in love. Love. Even if he couldn’t remember much, he didn’t think he had ever loved someone like this. Didn’t think he could love anyone else like this. How could he love anyone but Levi? Levi who was so soft with him. Levi who would touch him so tenderly. Levi who made up so many of his dreams.

Levi had recently been… different with how he acted, with their flirting. He would always flirt back, sometimes even start it himself and they would end up somewhere more private. There would be lips connecting and hands under shirts, but then Levi would pull away. There would be a hand over one of his scars, and then nothing. He had a lot of scars, from Levi saving him. Almost stitch-like in nature, he wouldn’t be surprised if he had to be given stitches. He didn’t really pay them much mind after the first week or so. That time had been spent staring in the mirror in his room, trying to remember literally anything. He hadn’t been successful so far, other than the occasional dream about a medical table. From the operation, he assumed.

That didn’t really matter right now though. He was leaning against a counter in this lab, on the evil boat that Levi had invited him a month ago now. Watching the man he loved work on some new chemical, it made everything feel right he supposed.
