It's nice knowing no matter what happened just an hour before, just a day before. It will go back to be the exact same way it was at the start. It's comforting to know that no matter what everything returns to its starting point, no matter what she does or who she kills, saves, romances, the next week it'll be as if it never happened.
it shouldn't be comforting, she knows that, they've read enough fantasy books to know that it's supposed to bring her an immense feeling of existential dread and helplessness. But she's always been the weirdo, the odd one, and even now, she's different, her inability to affect anything comforts her.
no matter what she does, they all die, there's never a real happy ending, and even if there was, she wouldn't be there to see it, she'd be back at the start before they could even say their goodbyes.
