“Optimus, slow down!” Megatron yelped as he felt another pillar graze his left shoulder.
“We’re almost there!” Optimus told him brightly, tugging his servo as he guided the silver mech along.
“Primus preserve me…” Megatron prayed as he hurried after Optimus.
The blue and red mech had bounded up to him without warning after his briefing with his high command, and after greeting Soundwave, Shockwave, Starscream, and a few others, Optimus had brought him down for a kiss before whispering he had a surprised planned for him that could not wait anymore.
Megatron checked his chronometer and saw he had a while before his next meeting and indulged his conjunx’s request. (How in Primus’ name was he supposed to say no to Optimus when the mech had batted his optics and gave him that look that always rendered the silver mech speechless? What kind of mech would he be?)
After pulling out a silky sash from his subspace-Megatron had to thank Soundwave later for smacking Starscream upside the helm for snickering-and wrapping it carefully around his optics, Optimus laced their digits together and pulled Megatron in the direction of this ‘surprise.’
Whatever it was, he just prayed it consisted of relaxing. His spark couldn’t handle anymore sudden collisions with the walls.
“Optimus, my darling,” Megatron tentatively asked as he jogged to keep up with him. “What even-”
Suddenly he ground to a halt, oofing as he slammed into the other mech.
“Surprise!” Optimus cried, followed by a quick, “Oh, the blindfold. Sorry.”
Deft digits were suddenly reaching around his helm, undoing the knot as a warm chassis leaned against his own. Megatron tilted his helm down slightly and slowly shuttered his optics as light returned to his vision once more.
Seeing the warm countenance of his conjunx instantly made his derma curl into a smile.
Optimus was shifting from one ped to the other, optics burning bright with happiness as he whipped out a small box.
His own derma was split apart into a large smile, optics crinkling as he exclaimed, “Happy one vorn anniversary!”
Megatron blinked at him. “Vorn? Really?”
Optimus nodded. Reaching, he grasped Megatron’s servos with his own, while the other opened the silver mech’s subspace. Placing the gift inside, he closed it and curled his digits into the other mech’s servo. “Jazz reminded me a few cycles ago, and I wanted to make it special for you.”
Megatron felt loved beyond compare at that moment and only felt the icy spike of worry for a second before he melted into the warm embrace of Optimus.
“You already got me something.” Optimus’ voice broke through his mental train of worry.
“I what?” Megatron asked as the train came to a screeching crash and fell into the void of emptiness.
“You were worried because you didn’t get me anything.” Optimus chuckled at him. Reaching up, he wrapped his arms around Megatron’s strong neck and rested his helm against his shoulders. “I can feel it through our bond, my spark.” The Prime smiled sweetly at him, a digit lightly tapping his chassis that encased said spark.
“Still,” Megatron sputtered, caught off guard at that. ‘Primus, I forgot he can feel my emotions.’ “It’s our first vorn anniversary.” He suddenly felt guilty at forgetting. “Truthfully, I thought it was next deca-cycle.”
“Who says that’s a bad thing?”
“Um…me?”
Optimus threw his helm back and laughed suddenly. “Technically,” He drew out the glyph. “Who says you can’t surprise me next deca-cycle?” A cheeky grin spread up the Prime’s derma, and Megatron couldn’t help but roll his optics, a smile on his face.
“Besides, you did give me something already.” Optimus smiled at him. Upon the confused look, he explained, “You covered my meetings so I could sleep in.”
“Optimus, I had no choice! You overslept!”
Megatron chuckled as the Prime looked bashful all of a sudden.
“Don’t laugh!” Optimus whined, burying his face in Megatron’s chassis. His cheeks burned as he whispered, “It wasn’t very Prime-ly of me to do so anyway.”
“And yet I’d do it again for you any cycle.” Megatron promised him. Reaching down, he lifted Optimus’ chin up gently to look him in the optics. “I mean it. We are conjunxed. Your burdens are my burdens, just as you have told me so many times when we courted.” Reaching a thumb up, he curled it against Optimus’ cheek and smiled tenderly at him. “You need never ask a thing from me, my darling.”
Leaning down, he captured his soft derma with his own, swallowing any complaints he might’ve tried to air out. As they both shared sweet kisses with one another, whispering soft, sweet nothings lost to their audials only, time slowly passed by.
But neither one of them noticed, for they were lost in their own world that consisted only of each other, and the pure, unwavering love pulsing in their sparks.
“I love you, Megatron.” Optimus murmured in between kisses.
“And I love you, Optimus.” Megatron vowed, holding him close as their optics fluttered shut, leaning in for another sweet kiss.
