The first time Bridget hung out with Uliana's gang was the beginning of the end.
They acted very different when they weren't being gawked at. (Who didn't really?)
Morgie was the first to acknowledge her, waving slightly from where he sat on the floor. Bridget smiled uncertainly.
“For fucks sake we're not going to jump you,” Hook snapped. Bridget shifted her attention to him.
The pirate was sitting in front of Maleficent's chair, occasionally wincing as she tugged at his hair, but not protesting. Bridget couldn't help but notice that Hades didn't seem to mind them being close. It shocked her a bit, because normally Hades would threaten anyone who looked at Maleficent.
Uliana rolled her eyes. “Ignore him, B. He's just pissy.”
The nickname made her smile falter. Only Ella had ever called her B. But Ella was gone now, wasn't she? Off living her life with her stupid perfect prince. “I can tell,” she said, instead of letting herself fall down that rabbit hole again.
“Well?” Maleficent said. “Are you going to sit or are you going to stare?”
So Bridget sat.
They were a lot more relaxed, Bridget noticed, and most of the threats made were jokes (or at least she hoped they were).
She felt at ease, strangely enough, watching Morgie's face flush pink when Uliana snapped something along the lines of “shut up, pretty boy”. It was…domestic, she supposed.
She didn't notice her eyelids getting heavy, or maybe she just wasn't ready to let it stop.

Hook stared at the princess that was currently fast asleep on the black sofa, her face buried in the cushions, pink hair obscuring her from view. “What do we do with her?”
Hades merely shrugged.
Uliana sighed. “We put her back in her dorm, idiots. She's with us now.”
Maleficent only glared a little as Hades pulled Bridget against his chest. She shifted a little, muttering something sleepily.
Hook followed him outside and down the hall to where her dorm was.
“It's very…pink.” Hades said.
Hook snorted. Pink was one way to put it. Blinding was another. He studied a music box of the vanity, winding it experimentally and staring at the tiny ballerina as she spun her little circles.
“What are you doing?” Hades sighed, finally setting Bridget down.
Hook shrugged, eyes scanning over the room. Bridget sure had a lot of trinkets. And a lot of shiny things. “Just…thinking.”
His eyes landed on a ring.
He had an idea.
Oh he had such a glorious idea.
He slipped the silver band onto his finger and nodded to Hades. “Let's go, then. I know Mal probably wants you back.” He winked after that last part and Hades rolled his eyes.
~~~
Bridget woke up in her room.
That was strange. She remembered falling asleep on the couch and yet here she is, in her own bed, in her own dorm.
Who had moved her? It had to have been one of them. The thought made her face heat up, made her heart beat a little off rhythm because, surely, you didn't carry people to bed unless you cared about them, right?
But then again she was still in her heels and she had woken up shivering without a blanket.
So they couldn't care that much.
~~~
“Where'd you get that?” Morgie asked, tilting his head curiously.
Hook smirked. “Bridget's dorm.”
“So you stole it?” Morgie asked flatly.
Hook nodded. “Yep. Wanna see how long it takes her to notice.”
He was smiling.
Not smirking.
Smiling.
Morgie's heart ached a little.
Bridget was making him smile, or the idea of her was at least.
Maybe Hook just didn't like boys…or whatever Morgie was. Or maybe Bridget was just better. He wasn't sure which one would sting more.
“Something bothering you, le Fay?”
Morgie shook his head, trying to rid himself of thoughts of pink curls and shiny lips. “Nothing.”
“Kay…you wanna go find Uli, maybe go fuck around the woods or something?”
“Nah. I don't feel like going out.”
“Oh…I'll see you later then.”
And if Hook's mood seemed to have dampened it was entirely his imagination.
