Work Text:
[The reader wakes up to find themselves on a bed...a really huge bed. They look around...and then they see a really tall man gazing over at them affectionately]
Flowery: Howdy.
[The reader instantly snaps out of their drowsy state and gets to their feet]
Flowery: Careful, little bud.
[The reader stumbles a bit as they back away from the man. Suddenly, the man reaches a hand over to them...]
Flowery: Hey, that's a pretty long drop behind you.
[...and then the reader suddenly feels something on their back. They glance over their shoulder and see that a giant hand is blocking their way]
Flowery: You don't want to fall, do you? I'd be really sad if you did.
[The reader slowly looks up at the man. The man, Flowery, is smiling at them. He is kneeling next to the bed. He is resting an elbow on the bed, and also keeping his hand behind the reader. His golden eyes are still gazing at the reader affectionately. And his smile seems to be full of warmth instead of predation. However, the reader still finds themselves clasping their hands together and giving Flowery a nervous grin]
Reader: Please don't eat me! I'm made of bones...and water...and...and blood! And electricity, too! I...I would taste very chalky or something! Like, very sour! Very bad aftertaste!
[The more the reader talks, the more concerned Flowery looks]
Reader: Just...just...
[The reader starts crying]
Reader: Please take me home! I...I'm not here to steal anything! I swear! I just want to go home!
[The reader starts weeping. The reader wipes their tears away with their fist...and then they find themselves stiffening up when they feel a gentle finger stroking their back]
Flowery: Sorry, little bud. I can't send you freesia. Not in your current condition.
Reader: What...?
Flowery: I found you sleeping on a path. That's no place for humans to sleep. They need a bed, don't they? My bed is quite large, but I hope it works for you.
Reader:...Was I...that tired...?
Flowery: It sure seemed like it. Humans don't sleep on paths. At least, that's what I've heard.
[The reader says nothing]
Flowery: Why not stay with me for a little while, little bud? I'll let you go freesia to your home when you're feeling more rested, I promise.
[The reader bites their lip]
Flowery: I'm not going to hurt you, little human. Humans are too cute to be hurt. And it's been a while since I last saw one. I can't just hurt a rare adorable creature.
[The reader takes a few deep breaths as they sit down and hug their knees. Flowery is still stroking their back]
Flowery: There, there. You'll be alright, little bud. Let me be your heart's ease.
[The reader raises an eyebrow, but slowly allows themselves to relax into the touch]
Flowery: Oh, humans love to be touched, don't they? If I was your size, I'd give you a lot of hugs.
[The reader lets out a squeak, which makes Flowery giggle]
Flowery: Humans have such funny voices. If I could, I'd pinch your cheek right now for being so cute.
[The reader squeaks again as they bury their face in their knees. This causes Flowery to squeal as he uses a finger to gently rub the reader's scalp]
Flowery: Little bud, could you talk some more? I love listening to your squeaky voice.
[The reader glances up at Flowery]
Reader: About...what?
[Flowery squeals again. The reader notices a big grin on Flowery's face...which causes them to squeak and hide their face again. Of course, Flowery giggles at the reader's behaviour]
Flowery: Oh, anything you want, sweetpea.
Reader:...Sorry, I'm not good at talking to people...
Flowery: Well, I have good news! You're talking to a flower, not a person!
[The reader slowly looks up at Flowery]
Reader:...Huh?
Flowery: I'm a flower, you see. My skin is as soft as petals. My blood is a sweet, sweet mixture of nectar and juice. And all of my organs are plants of some variety.
Reader:...Oh. Okay.
Flowery: I know, I know. I look very handsome, don't I? You like the form that I chose? My formal attire? My royal standard? My golden pothos?
Reader: Uh...it's...nice...I guess?
Flowery: Oh, that's gloriosa, little bud. What a nice thing to say~
[Flowery gently rubs their scalp again. The reader rests their chin on their knees and hugs themselves tighter]
Reader:...So, uh, am I supposed to...do something?
Flowery: Oh? What do you mean?
Reader: I'm like a tiny animal to you, right? I mean, humans are animals, so that's not technically wrong, but--
[Flowery giggles]
Flowery: Is it wrong of me to just admire you?
Reader: Huh?
Flowery: Isn't that something humans do? Watch other animals for no reason other than to admire them?
Reader:...Yes...
Flowery: That's what I'm doing right now.
Reader:...But I'm doing nothing. Isn't it boring to watch an animal do nothing?
[Flowery rubs their scalp yet again]
Flowery: You silly string. Birds just sit on trees all day, and humans still admire them. Cats sleep all the time, and humans still admire them. You just can't bore me, little bud. I'll admire every single thing that you do because I just love humans so much.
Reader: What about the bad humans?
[Flowery chuckles as he shakes his head]
Flowery: Humans flourish when they're given affection, right? Maybe those bad humans just haven't been given enough love. And I'm sure if I just give them what they need, they'll bloom marvelously into nicer people.
[The reader says nothing. Flowery gently strokes the reader's scalp. Neither party says anything for a good long while. The reader slowly closes their eyes, but they reopen their eyes when they hear Flowery's voice]
Flowery: Hey, bud. You said you were made of electricity, right? I thought robots were made of electricity. Never knew humans were machines.
Reader: Oh. We have...neurons. Cells that create electricity and other chemicals and stuff.
Flowery: And yet you're organic lifeforms...made of water, bones, and blood. What a mysterious combination.
Reader: All your organs are flowers. That's mysterious to me.
Flowery: Well, well! We both have something in common! We're learning new things about each other!
Reader: You just like to see the bright side of everything, don't you?
Flowery: I'm a flower, sweetpea. I'm drawn to brightness.
[The reader says nothing. Pretty soon, they find themselves getting sleepier]
Flowery: Oh, you poor human...you just woke up not too long ago, and you're already craving sleep again...
[The reader closes their eyes...but they reopen their eyes when they feel themselves getting gently scooped up in soft hands]
Flowery: No, no, it's okay. I won't hurt you, little human.
[Flowery slowly and carefully moves himself onto the bed. The wide awake reader is trembling a little]
Flowery: Here, let me help you...
[Flowery gently moves the reader onto their abdomen. Before the reader can say anything, Flowery uses a finger to stroke the reader's back and scalp]
Flowery: Precious little sweetpea...it's okay, just get some rest...I'll bring you back home soon, okay? For now, give yourself a break...
[The reader slowly closes their eyes...and then they fall asleep]
Flowery: There you go, sweetpea. Enjoy your rest, and may your mind be nourished by your own electricity.
