   Twenty days after Mark's death, Abby looks up from tending to a patient near admit and sees, yet again, Carter. His shoulder dips beneath his satchel, and as he passes through the ambulance bay doors, he looks haggard. Unwell.

   He isn't supposed to be in today. She tells him as such when he lumbers over to the lounge, but he merely shrugs.

   "We're understaffed. Weaver called me in."
