Work Text:
Dr. Abbot pushed the swivel doors from the waiting room opened. The steady coughing and talking got replaced by the ushered choas and beeping of the ED.
"I dont believe a single word of what you just said." Abbot steered for the nurses station. "But its true." Robby trailed him. "Seriously?" He slung his bag from his shoulder.
"Good morning to you two too. What seemes to be the trouble?" Dana but on her best stewardess voice.
"He's telling me," Jack leaned over the counter to Dana, "that a cloud weighs over a million tonnes." Robby pulled his jacket and stethoscope from his bag. "Around a million tonnes." "That cant be correct." Dana looked between the two. Robby chuckeled. "Look it up." "A million tonnes. Really?" She shook her head.
"I have a better idea." Abbots eyes lit up in mischief and off he went.
"Go look what he's plotting." Dana added dry, looking after the figure in black scrubs. "Do I have to babysit him." "Pretty sure you have a contract stating that. Your husband. Your responcebility."
Robby shook his head smiling. "You should've said that at our wedding." "Aw cute in thinking I just haven't rephrased it." She called after him, he looked over his shoulder: "Love you too."
"Withaker. Santos. Just the people I wanted to see." He grabbed their shoulders. Escape was pointless. "Morning Dr. Abb-" he started. "What do you guess a cloud weighs?"
He looked sharply between both residents. "What is this jeopardy?" Santos tried wriggling out of the grip. Again pointless. Dennis stuttered: "I dont know- ehm I guess a ton." "No, I think its 10 tonnes. Saw that somewhere." Trinity contributed. Robby caught up behind them.
"You're both wrong." He leaned ever so casual over the station. "See?" Abbot snapped to him. "Thats not a valid source." "They represent the general puplic!" "Okay. They're not a viable second opinion. Happy?" Abbot pursed his lips. "A little."
The interns, still in an ex-soldiers locked grip began to squirm. "Whats the answer?" Trinity looked like she currently considered biting as a viable escape tactic. Robby sight. "Its about a million tonnes."
"Damn." Santos slipped. Abbot let go of the residents. Relieved for the freedom they shook themselves.
"Okay. That. I wouldn't have guessed." Withaker rubbed his shoulder. "Its still out for confirmation. Currently its only his words were trusting." "Google it!" Robby laught dry. He shook his head.
"How long have you been arguing about that?" Santos sipped from her mug. "You dont want to know."
"Yeah, ehm. Dr. Robbys right. About a million tonnes. Thats around -wow- 2.500 Boeing747s." The R1 read of his phone.
"See?" Robby proposed. Abbot hung his head. "Fine, you're right. Damn you." Robby grinned cocky.
"Thats definitely going in my book of pointless fun facts." Santos announced and wandered off. "Wait!" Dennis sprint-walked after her.
"You got young residents involved in your bickering?" Dana spawned near them, like always. "Good job."
"By the way he's correct. Sadly." Abbot deadpanned. "Of course he is." Robby grinned comical. "Moving on, come on. Things to do. Patients to see." She ushered them towards the board.
Abbot added while being handed a tablet from Princess: "Tomorrow I'm in charge of the entertainment in the car."
