Summary
Merlin and Arthur had been sleeping together for exactly eight months. But while for Arthur this doesn’t mean much—just a way to help with the stress of suddenly having all the responsibilities of a king dropped on his shoulders after Morgana betrayed them all and Uther became unresponsive—for Merlin this is far more. He has been hopelessly in love with Arthur for years, and finally having him like this is making everything better and worse at the same time, forcing him to constantly bottle up all his emotions until even Arthur notices there’s something wrong.
So of course, as luck would have it, on their next quest they get trapped in an evil semi-sentient garden that feeds on their emotions and will do anything to make them express what they truly feel, because honestly, Merlin and Arthur are a feast.
