Summary
Jack doesn't know a whole lot about Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III. Not much more than any other spirit does, really.
Supposedly, Hiccup is old. Like crazy ancient, even though he doesn't look a day over nineteen. Older than even Nicholas St. North. Maybe, if the rumors are true, which Jack low-key doubts, the first spirit the Moon ever chose. Never seen without his sleek, black dragon, the two of them haunting the skies, matching Jack's snow and ice with their howling winds and crackling flames.
He's an enigma, a mystery, old and powerful but kind and unerringly good. Jack's spoken to him a few times over the last couple of centuries, but doesn't really know him. And yet, when Jack spots Hiccup atop the Burgess courthouse, Toothless at his side, the two of them alone against the sky, he stops. And when he sees the pain nesting in Hiccup's eyes, he stays. Because lonely recognizes lonely, and damn it all if Jack Frost is going to let anyone else feel that way if there's anything he can do to help.
