Work Text:
The whole house was silent. No sounds of chairs squeaking against the wooden floor. No cabinets being violently closed. Food untouched for days. No laughter or shrieks of happiness. No sounds of music filled the echoey halls. Musical instruments left alone to collect dust. Beds stayed un-made. Room doors left wide for the imaginary to come and observe.
Silence echoed throughout the house. Silence just like the previous days. No one came in and no one went out. It had been like that for days.
But one door remained closed.
It had been closed since the day everything happened.
Since that stupid decision.
"We're going out for the night," Jimin said in the softest voice.
Yoongi looked up to see him leaning against the white doorframe of his bedroom. He hummed a response before looking away.
"You don't want to come?" he questioned.
Another hum was all he received.
A light frown appeared on his face. He wasn't going to take a hum as a response.
"Hyung is that the only response I'll be getting?"
A door slammed shut from somewhere in the house "JIMIN" a voice singsonged "WE"RE LEAVING" and footsteps followed that call.
"Are you sure?" Jimin asked again hopeful but all he received was the nod of the head.
Taehyung appeared by Jimin's side glancing at Yoongi before grabbing his arm "C'mon Hyung wants to be boring so we'll leave him be" he stated seriously but brought out his sweet laugh.
With a sigh and a small wave to Yoongi, he let Taehyung drag him away.
Suga squeezed his eyes closed tightly at the memory. It was so clear and new in his mind. Jimin's wave and smile. Taehyung's teasing and laugh.
He regretted waving back that day. He regretted not coming along. He regretting not being able to see them all one last time.
Why hadn't he gone along? He didn't drink. He could've safely brought everyone back home. Safe and sound. All together just like they should be right now. But no he had to have been stupid and not go. But what he most regretted was picking up that stupid phone call.
The boys had all been gone a long time. Yoongi himself was growing tired as it was reaching 1 am. Maybe it was a bad idea to stay up all night waiting for them. But just then his phone started ringing. He looked over at giving it a hard stare before walking over to it and answering the call.
"Hello?" he asked softly.
"Hi, Yoongi Hyung!!!" sang the voice of Jimin.
A soft smile appeared on Yoongi's lips "Having fun?"
Giggles where all he received hearing Namjoon's voice in the background.
"Jiminnie?" He said softly.
"I lov-" but the voice was cut off by screeching tires and then screams.
Yoongi's smile dropped "JIMIN?" he yelled into the receiver.
Nothing. The screams had stopped. There was nothing but silence.
Silence.
His phone dropped hitting the floor.
Next, his knee's hit the floor.
The tears came rolling down next.
He snapped himself out of the trance standing up. He took a deep breath looking at the scattered mess in the room. His legs were shaky as he stood walking over to a cracked mirror.
Yoongi stared at his horrid reflection. The crack ran right through his face. His messy black hair contrasted with his even paler skin. HIs usually choice of clothes ripped jeans and a full sleeved shirt looked massive on his small skinny figure. He was sure this change was bad and here to stay.
He stepped out of his room and was met with bright light from the white walls and windows were the sun shined through.
He took a step and another step and soon he was walking in the hallway where there will be forever silence. Bitten down fingertips dragged across the wall as he walked so badly wanting to feel something but his whole body was numb.
He half expected to see Jungkook and Taehyung running towards him chasing each other or Jin's heavenly cooking to fill the house.
Soon enough red marks started appearing on the walls as he continued to dig his hurt fingers into the wall harder as he walked.
So badly wanting to feel pain.
Anger rose inside of him. He couldn't feel anything. Nothing.
His hand curled into a fist and he slammed into the wall with a scream.
A scream. The first sound he had made in days. Maybe weeks? He didn't know what day it was anymore.
He continued repeatedly hitting his fist into the wall. Screaming as he did.
No tears were shed as he let his back hit the wall slowly slipping to the ground.
He stared at his hands one bruised and bloody the other just the same. He squeezed both tightly hitting his head against the wall harshly.
Standing up again he knocked everything off the nearest table. Letting everything fall and break on the floor. He watched everything shatter a pained smile on his face as his hands burned.
Suddenly there were hands on his shoulders as he was wiped around to face someone. Jungkook. His Jungkookie. Their Jungkookie.
Yoonji stared at him blankly before he swung a fist at Jungkook harshly but the youngest dodged it.
Soon their own music was ringing his ears. Everything was happening too fast and too sudden.
He let out a scream before Jungkook quickly embraced him.
Yoonji smiled cruelly looking up at the ceiling. His ears were ringing. Of course, it would be Jungkookie. It'd always be Jungkookie. The youngest always there to save them. But why hadn't be been able to save them that day?
He pushed him away violently. Jungkook's back hit the wall. The boy let a pained expression fall on his face letting his head fall facing the floor.
Yoongi stumbled back looking at Jungkook and took another swing at the wall his foot kicking the table harshly as it toppled over.
"Why couldn't you save them" he screamed.
"Why're you trying to save me if you couldn't save them" he continued to scream.
Jungkook looked up pain in his eyes as he stumbled forward punching Yoongi harshly in the face.
He stumbled back falling into the stairs.
Jungkook grabbed by his shirt pulling him back up and held him by the front of the shirt trying to form words but not a sound left his lips.
Anger boiled inside of Yoongi. Of course, he didn't have anything to say because he hadn't gone with them either.
He grabbed Jungkook by the shirt and threw him mercilessly against the stairs. Pained sounds escaped his bleeding lips.
The music rang in his ears. Louder, than it ever was. The same words repeated above the music. The loudest.
It's all your fault. You could've done something.
Yoongi screamed as he ran over to a chair and picked it up running towards a mirror.
Jungkook looked up hands on his ribs the running catching his attention again.
He swung the chair and as it flew out of his hand's everything snapped.
The chair hit the mirror. The glass shattering everywhere the chair landing with a crash.
Silence. It was a silent again.
Finally silence.
The music stopped. The voices stopped. Nothing was ringing anymore.
Jungkook stared up at Yoongi. A blank expression on his face. Not able to process what just happened.
Yoonji stared at the mess as he fell to his knees once again "WHY!?" he screamed.
"Why did you have to take them away?! Didn't you know they were my everything?! They were my reason for living!" he screamed into the empty space.
"Namjoon, Taehyung, Seokjin, Hoseok" he screamed their names like it was the last time it could make a difference.
"And Jimin" his voice went quiet "You took my Jiminnie from me..." he trailed off his head lolling to the side. As is he had just realized.
"My Jiminnie" he murmured letting his bloody hand trace something on the floor.
Jungkook forced himself to move over to Yoongi tugging him into a hug. This time he knew his Hyung wouldn't refuse.
Yoongi fell into his arms as the tears started rolling down. He clutched Jungkook's t-shirt tightly in his bloody hands sobbing into the youngest chest "w-why did they leave us Kookie? why d-didn't we go with them. it's a-all m-my fault" he kept repeating between sobs.
Jungkook stayed silent hugging Yoongi closely to himself.
Yoongi was the last person here for him. He didn't want to lose him either.
He'd hold on forever until his last breath.
Their final breath.
