Coming out of every closet imaginable

Chapter 4: shenanigans ensue

Summary:

The babies wake up and make mischief.

Notes:

Hay guys really sorry I haven't added to this in a while. Just haven't really been feeling as little lately so I didn't really feel the pull to write baby dean and Cas. Also, creative writing's been taking up a lot of my time and I didn't wanna get burned out on writing. That said, here's chapter four. It's a bit of a filler but still adorable and I promise there's more to come soon. :3

Chapter Text

Sam’s P.O.V.

Sam knows, in all the ways that count, he and Dean are already veterans. They’ve spent their whole lives behind the front lines of a war no one else is even aware that humanity's fighting. That said, he is personally also a veteran of all kinds of internet forums. After he’d got the boys situated in a bed, a single bed, as they had refused to be separated, he’d metaphorically hit the books. Exercising what Dean likes to call his boner for research, he’d delved into the true trenches of the Google search pages. All he really had to go off of was their behavior and what little Dean had said. He’d called Cas a baby, and that claim didn’t actually seem to be far off from the mental state he was displaying.

So logically, his first search was simply the keywords adult baby. He really should have guessed what that would bring. Upon first glance, it seemed all there was were some sensational articles about kinky relationships. Consenting adults and all that, but he really hadn’t needed to see that uncomfortably suggestive photo of a woman around his age in nothing but a crop top and an adult diaper. Too bad eye bleach isn’t real, and all bleach would really do to his eyes is probably dissolve them or something equally as gruesome.

Moving on from that scarring, he scrolled a bit farther down the page and was met with a term he’d never heard before. The meaning of the term was pretty intuitive, but not something you’d ever think of unless directly confronted with it. Age regression, when a person mentally regresses to a younger age. That sounded like it hit the nail on the head perfectly, and digging a bit deeper into it revealed that this was something that could happen naturally due to trauma, or just simply as a coping mechanism for some people. When he saw that, it gave him more of an inkling as to why Dean may have had that adult pacifier. But, he wasn’t really one to jump to conclusions, so he figured he’d let Dean explain himself once all this was over.

Thankfully, he quickly found and navigated to the page on the website having to do with care. He grimaced a bit as he noticed it mentioned the need for diapers if the person who regressed had a younger age range. Dean had probably changed him hundreds of times when he was a kid though, he reasoned with himself, there was no reason why he couldn’t return the favor now. With that in mind, he checked the time, honestly a bit shocked to find it was two in the morning. Looking worryingly over to the boys, he hoped they’d both last to morning without needing any extra supplies, as he didn’t feel comfortable going out for things while they were both so vulnerable like this.

He packed his laptop away in its case and slid beneath the covers of the unoccupied bed. Thoughts of all that would need to be done tomorrow made him feel even more exhausted, and he quickly fell into a deep sleep.

The morning didn’t meet Dean kindly, the sun piercing its way through the hotel’s thin curtains and directly into his eyes. He frowned and hid his face in the warmth laying across his chest. Soft hair tickled his cheeks, and he settled down to go back to sleep. That is until he noticed the smell that seemed to be emanating from all around him. He wrinkled his nose, as the smell of urine invaded his nostrils. Ew, he thought, who peed the bed?

Wait. His eyes flew open, and he squinted into the room, shoving lightly at Cas so he could sit up. Cas grumbled a bit, before snuggling into Dean's lap, where he now lay. His cheeks heated a bit, but his attention was quickly returned by the wet spot he and Cas sat in. His thighs felt itchy and chafed, revealing him as the culprit. At the revelation, he felt himself blush even more fiercely. He reached down and shook Cas’s shoulders a bit to properly wake him up. He whined loudly, and Dean was quick to shush him. “Mph,” Cas replied angrily, blinking many times in quick succession. Finally, his glassy blue eyes focused on Dean’s face.

“Whut De?” He asked, apparently not noticing the itchy feeling caused by the rapidly drying piss. “Cas, I had a accident. You can’t tell Sammy, okay?” Dean said with all the grave seriousness a three-year-old could manage. “Kay,” Cas agreed easily, nodding along with what Dean was saying, “but De, whatta we gonna do?” Cas, ever the strategizer, was trying to think of how they could lie about this and get away with it. It stumped Dean for a minute, he hadn’t thought about what they’d actually have to do to cover this up before Sammy woke. He figured they just wouldn’t tell and Sammy would never sus it out. Dean was a very good liar, after all.

However, little De knew he had to be strong for Cas. Cas was looking up at him worriedly, waiting for instruction, and he was a baby right now. Dean had to be the one to make the big decisions. So, puffing up his chest, Dean said, “Well, uh, we hide da blankets under da bed.” He said resolutely and hopped off the bed, grabbing Cas’s hand and dragging him along. “Oof,” Cas said as the hit the floor, but Dean dragged him to his feet and he was fine. He smiled at Dean proudly for not making a fuss, and Dean smiled proudly in return.

They got to work clumsily pulling the blankets and sheets off of the bed. It was no quiet affair, wet sheets and blankets making loud fwump sounds as they landed on the carpeted floor. Once all that could be seen was a few pillows and a bare mattress the boys worked together shoving their large lump of soiled bedding under the bed. Cas wasn’t making much progress against the wall of cotton, so he sat down on the floor and pushed at the bedding with his socked feet, kicking the bundle. It took them maybe ten minutes to get the whole thing to stay under without any pieces peeking out of the edges.

Cas huffed loudly and looked up at Dean with a satisfied smile. “De! Did it!” “Thas right Cas! You dida great job.” At that Cas beamed radiantly, and turned to the figure he’d noticed sitting up about five minutes into their efforts. Turning towards Sammy, he put a finger to his lips whispering, “secret.” “Huh? I aready know itsa secret Cas,” Dean said, before noticing just who exactly Cas was telling.

“Cas!” Dean exclaimed with a whine, “You not posed to tell Sammy, member?” “Oh, yea,” Cas agreed, turning back to Sam again. “You not know, Sammy.” It was an order, not a request, and even Dean had to giggle at Cas’s backward logic. Cas giggled in turn, mostly just happy he had made Dean laugh, rather than having an actual understanding of his own antics. Sam himself had to huff a laugh, watching the boys giggle like the fiends they truly were. The whole situation was exacerbated by the large dark stains covering the crotches of their boxers. Seems they’d forgotten to hide the most incriminating piece of evidence.

Rubbing at his tired eyes, Sam asked, “All right guys, who’s ready for a long day of shopping?” Little Dean groaned instantly at hearing those words, he’d always hated shopping, especially as a kid. He didn’t exactly have the best memories surrounding shopping centers. When his mom had taken him he’d been too young to really remember much, other than getting the general impression that taking baby Dean into stores had stressed Mary Winchester out. After that, stores became places filled with goods he wasn’t allowed to have, that is unless he was swiping something. There were plenty of times he had to ignore the longing on Sammy’s face as he eyed the fresher, healthier foods they just couldn’t afford.

The frankly depressing thoughts of his adult brain leaked in, out of place in what was meant to be a relatively carefree time. It caused a painful lump in his throat, and he exclaimed, “no store, Sammy!” Sam noticed immediately when his little big brother’s eyes started to go dewy with held-back tears. He could imagine all too easily why a mention of the store would cause such an extreme reaction.

This fact put him in an awkward position, as they were in desperate need of some supplies. Not the least of which was something to clean up the two boys standing before him and looking up at him with big sad eyes as they waited for his verdict. He figured he would try to bribe them, but what did little kids even like? Candy maybe, or toys. “Uh, we really need to go to the store buddy,” Sam said, “and if you’re good while we're there I’ll even let you pick out a surprise!” Sam infused the words with as much excitement as he could manage this early in the morning.

“Surprise?” Cas asked, looking awed. He then proceeded to round on Dean, “De! Be good,” he said, expression fierce. “O- okay, Cas,” Dean muttered obediently, shooting Sam a mildly terrified look. Oh, yeah, Sam thought with a grin, if they didn’t get a surprise Dean was gonna be in big trouble with a certain angel. However, Sam’s grin faded quickly as he looked down at his brother and his angel’s lower halves. There was much to be done before they’d be presentable to go into public.

“Alright,” Sam said, rubbing his hands together, “so De, you think you can get cleaned up all by yourself?” He asked without much hope. The boy blushed, looking self-conscious, and uttered a small maybe. Upon seeing the helpless look on Dean’s face, Sam took a deep steadying breath. “Would you like some help?” He asked. Dean’s expression instantly lightened, “Yea, Sammy help,” he sighed, relieved. “Help Cas too?” the angel asked bashfully, playing with his fingers. “Yeah, of course,” Sam reassured him.
So, as quickly and methodically as was possible, he helped the boys clean up. The only way that wouldn’t involve actually fully bathing them was hot water and a damp rag. He wiped them down, grimacing in sympathy at the splotchy red rash marring both their thighs. Cas in particular winced quite a bit, not as familiar with human bodies and all that came with them. Once it was as good as it was gonna get until they went shopping, he clothed Dean in a fresh pair of boxers.

It was a bit harder with Cas because he didn’t exactly have any other clothes than what was currently on his back. Sam had to improvise a bit, digging through Dean’s duffle for another clean pair. He figured Dean wouldn’t mind, that and the fact that there was no way Sam’s were gonna fit the angel. Dean’s underwear proved to be a bit of a tight squeeze for Cas, and though Cas huffed a bit in discomfort he seemed otherwise fine. All that was left after that was quickly shoving limbs into arm and leg holes. Not twenty minutes later he had them both dressed, if a bit rumpled.

He then stepped out of the room for a second while both boys were preoccupied messing with their new outfits. Cas was, of course, wearing his trench coat. Sam was planning to forgo it until he saw the look of longing on Cas’s face. As soon as it was within the angel’s reach he fisted a hand into the beige material and refused to let go. But, anyways, it was an ample distraction for him to get away for a few minutes. He pulled his phone out and speed-dialed the one hunter he figured might know something about reversing the hex or curse the witch put on Cas.

He chatted with Bobby for a few minutes, explaining the situation, but leaving out the part where Dean had dissolved into the same mindset Cas had been unwillingly thrust into. Surprisingly, it seemed as though Bobby had heard of this particular hex before; as he stated it was, in fact, a hex, not a curse. He settled Sam’s nerves by confirming that the hex wasn’t harmful, at least not in a physical sense. Its purpose was more just to temporarily incapacitate the target, and it would dissipate on its own after a duration of forty-eight hours.

Having done all he could, for now, it was officially store time. Joy.
