Montreal -- Ottawa Centaurs forward Ilya Rozanov has been fined $2,500 for instigating an incident involving Montreal’s Hollander during NHL Game No. 421 on Tuesday, Dec. 4, the National Hockey League announced this morning.
Rozanov has been retroactively penalized for his actions, which were determined to be in violation of the League’s rules against unsportsmanlike conduct involving interference with another player’s face mask.
“The Player Safety Commission and the Office of the Commissioner deemed Rozanov’s conduct disrespectful after a short investigation of the incident," said a spokesperson for the Commissioner. “All players in the League are expected to remain civil during stoppages of play and while off the ice.”
The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
