Chapter Text
One month later.
Tommy had been living with the Syndicate for one month after he had been found, dying at Dream's camp.
More specifically, he had been a vampire for one month. And his sire was non other than Techno, The Blade himself.
Kind of crazy when you think about it, right?
Of course, it wasn't easy. Nothing is ever easy. While Tommy's physical wounds had healed, his internal ones had not. Some nights he would find himself waking up to cold sweat, or more often, tears and occasional screaming. Nightmares of what was, and what could have been. He had been assured countless times that Dream was dead, gone, buried. But things like that need time. A lot of time.
Luckily for him, he had the rest of eternity at his hands.
There were, of course, the good parts. Small things. Little things. Those always add up, and these had, for the better.
Like Ranboo always making Tommy's favorite, blueberry muffins, on the weekend for breakfast.
Like visiting Niki and Quackity and playing chess with Techno (who never lost).
Like the puppy they found on the street, and Tommy had taken in, naming it Henry. Henry and Clementine got along like bees to a flower.
Tommy and his family never failed to visit the graves every Friday night, and lay flowers down.
He always laid roses down on Sally's grave, the one that faced the ocean.
And he always laid down Asters on Tubbo's, knowing it would attract bees. Tubbo loved bees.
When Tommy had wanted to visit Tubbo's grave, no one asked why. Tommy wasn't sure he was ready yet, but he knew the time would come eventually, and his family would be there.
Tommy still wasn't used to drinking blood, or not having a heartbeat. He wouldn't stop breathing for a long time yet, it was a habit not easily broken. Wilbur still teased him when had any qualms, but it was a good kind of teasing.
The kind you knew you were included in, not excluded.
There were other problems as well, the Hunters were getting bolder, Schlatt still seemed troublesome, and Quackity was having more and more trouble with the government as the weeks wore on.
But hey, when you're a vampire, and so is the rest of your family, you kind of have all the time in the world.
So when Techno walked in and saw his little fledgling curled up on the couch asleep, with Clementine and Henry snuggled up to him, who's to say he didn't lay down beside him? Who's to say that the rest of the family breathed a sigh of relief and fondness after spending an hour searching for the two, just to find them both in slumber? Who's to say they didn't join them?
Not I. After all, I'm just the narrator. I simply tell the stories as they happen. So, I give the five a private moment of peace, as life allows so few, and adjust my white mask with the bold XD printed upon it.
After all, I'm just the narrator.
