Thanos stares down at the ball in his hands with a sense of rising dread.
The object itself poses no issue. Round, shiny, entirely harmless. He shifts the item around his ringed fingers, examining the blurry, muddled reflection that shines back at him through the sphere. The issue isn't the object itself. It’s the color.
Light blue, the same color as the sky outside in the real world. Slowly, he turns his head towards where Nam-gyu stands in the crowd, his own plastic ball held tightly in his grasp. Blood red instead of blue — they’ve been placed on opposing teams.

He wanted to be a pillar of support for Su-bong, he wanted to be the one to lift him out of this mess, but the truth was… Nam-gyu had no idea what he was doing. He had never cared for a person in this way before. He had never… felt this way for someone else before- this desire to care for them, this sense of protectiveness and concern, this way that Su-bong was taking up space in his mind and in his heart. It was all so new to him, so strange and confusing, that he had no idea if he was doing any of it right; it frustrated and scared and angered him all at once, knowing that he wanted- he needed- to do something, but not knowing how.
He thought about something Su-bong had said, through his delirium the night before- “Maybe my divine intervention was this- finding my way back to you.” Nam-gyu wondered if Su-bong even remembered saying it, and if he did, if he had truly meant it. And if he had… Nam-gyu feared that he might only end up disappointing the both of them.
__A sequel to “i am here and i’ll lead you home”, where Nam-gyu and Su-bong learn to navigate their lives after the games, while trying to understand this new relationship growing between them, and their feelings for each other.

Summary
The bathroom fight scene ended differently. Thanos barely survived it, giving him the opportunity to participate in the next game.
Throughout this story Team Thanos has the time to go through an actual development. While the purpled haired rapper tries to keep his squad alive and together, he discovers a new side to himself. A side that Nam-gyu introduces him to.Thanos tries to deny his feelings, not taking Nam-gyu's words of affirmation to heart. He thinks he's just playing with his feelings.
Meanwhile this causes the latter to become self-conscious, doubting that his feelings could ever be reciprocated.
Will they make each other better or worse?
