“I don’t wanna… I’m not sleepy yet. Tell me a bedtime story?”
Ken made a face. “A bedtime story? I don’t think I know any.”
“Sure you do! I’m sure you know all sorts of fairy tales, like the turtle and the hare, or the fox and the bird…”
“It’s the fox and the crow. And those are technically fables…” Ken sighed, looking troubled.
“It doesn’t matter if it’s a fable or a fairy tale or what you had for breakfast, just tell me something?” Daisuke pleaded, and his friend’s eyes widened. Silence spread between them for a while, Ken’s eyes flicking back and forth as he contemplated. After a while, he opened his mouth reluctantly.
“Well… there is one story I kind of like…”

Summary
Ken slid his bookmark between the pages and closed the book atop his lap so he could give Daisuke his full attention, his body on edge and quivering from the look of fear in Daisuke's eyes. "What happened? Tell me."
"You're not, you're not going to believe me," he panted.
Ken narrowed his eyes. "I can't believe anything if you don't tell me."
Daisuke ran his hands through his wild hair, dislodging Chibimon so the little Digimon jumped down onto the bench beside him with a humph. "Something happened! I don't know what. I don't know what happened, but then everyone started acting real weird and—" He cut himself off, cheeks flushing bright pink, visible no matter how hard he tried to hide it. "They were, they were…they were all over me!" The panic made his voice rise sharply.
OR
Daisuke acquires digital pheromones that amplify how attracted to him the other Chosen Children are.....except Ken. Who has no reaction whatsoever.

Adrenaline had pulsed through him—Ken could feel it again now, the memories fresh despite having been two full weeks ago—and his fear had spiked when Daisuke started tugging at his cargo shorts like they hurt.
And if there was anything Ken never wanted, it was for Daisuke to be in pain. Daisuke—his best friend, his partner, his everything. Of all people, he didn't deserve that.

It didn’t matter that he could barely breathe, something beautiful and terrifying blooming inside him, that he had to run away so Daisuke wouldn’t see him hack up red petals, tinged with black at their short ends that fit together, trying to get them all out before he filled up again."
Ken develops Hanahaki after his first jogress with Daisuke, and continues to have it for years. A series of drabbles of him dealing with his condition.

Ken pushed up onto his knees, grateful when the movement didn't disturb Wormmon's sleeping form, and shifted closer to nudge at Daisuke's bare shoulder. "D-Daisuke?"
He hated the way his voice trembled.
Daisuke didn't stir, but his breath caught, his snores settling for a moment before continuing.
Swallowing, Ken took a deep breath and forced himself closer, until he was close enough he could climb up into his best friend's bed and press against his warm body. "Daisuke?"
Finally, he moved, and an arm wrapped around Ken's tense waist and dragged him into his tight embrace.
OR
Ken wakes up from a nightmare during a sleepover and climbs into bed with Daisuke, who welcomes him with open arms.
