“It’s not safe for him here,” Shoko starts, though Yuji doesn’t bother to move his eyes from Gojo as she speaks. He looks at the soft plump skin, the delicate white lashes hiding those beautiful eyes, his lips, his jaw and bone structure- there’s a heavy lump in his throat as he thinks of what would have been. How Gojo, how this body beneath his hands would have been cremated. Burnt to ashes. “I’ll monitor him for as long as I can but he can’t stay here. Not in this state.”
“I’ll take care of him,” He says without hesitation. He knew from the start that he would do anything to get Gojo back, no matter how long it takes.
After the battle is over and Sukuna is defeated, Gojo is revived. As Yuji cares for him throughout his recovery, their relationship grows mutually dependent and desperate.
