“Purpose, question?”
Rocky, please. I’m trying to spare you right now.
Basically, Grace gets exposed to a dangerous amount of radiation during an EVA and doesn't want to tell Rocky bc of what happened to Rocky's crew <3
THIS IS A REWORKED VERSION OF "TEMPEST" - after some comments, I wanted to keep the soul of the story, but make it more scientifically plausible. While there are still probably some inaccuracies, I still hope this isn't as messy as before.

“No.” Rocky said, cutting Grace off. “Grace big.” His carapace did a slow tilt in a very pointed ‘look down’ kind of motion.
Grace swallowed hard and looked away from Rocky with another laugh, albeit more awkward and forced than before as he reached for the pipette.
“That’s kinda something you’re supposed to pretend you haven’t noticed, pal.” He said stiffly and adjusted his weight on the chair. Maybe if he just silently acknowledged and made peace with how pink his face was it would go away.

Summary
Ryland had spent a lot of time with his hand over the years. He wasn't a virgin, but his sexual encounters were admittedly few and far between. He's had a couple of serious relationships, but he's never had a mate, as Rocky would put it. There's no other half of Ryland Grace. It's just him, alone. And an alone man still has needs.
