Will Graham is dead.
His ignominious demise came at the hand — or rather ear — of one missing, presumed dead, Abigail Hobbs, the profiler choking to death on his own kitchen floor, the piece of cartilage stuck in his throat obstructing his windpipe.
While a hitch in his plans, this ultimately poses but a mild temporary inconvenience for a man of as many unusual talents as Hannibal Lecter.
After all, his most obscure skill is his ability to re-animate the dead.
