Summary
As Severus is about to start his last year at Hogwarts, a familiar stranger encountered on the train platform spurs him to try, for one last time, to mend his lost friendship with Lily.
“Otherwise Harry will die”, they said.
Well. He has no fucking idea who 'Harry' is, and Black is a particular pain in his ass even post-graduation, but Severus just cannot run from a challenge, can he?
After all, winning a war couldn’t be that complicated.
The updates are for fixing grammar, typos and overall errors. @Nordremo my wonderful beta does it for me, as much as she did the summary.
The only new thing is the wonderful art at chapter nine.- Language:

One of the best things I've ever read. Binge read it and loved every moment. The angst, the suspense, the martyrdom.

Summary
It's ten years after the war, and Harry is treading water. He's been demoted to desk duty at the Auror Office. He hardly ever leaves Grimmauld Place. He's avoiding Ron and Hermione, and he's been drinking—a lot.
But when he has a chance encounter with Draco Malfoy in the back alley of his favorite club, his life is turned upside down. Stripped of his wand and on strict parole after a stint in Azkaban, Draco has been keeping a low profile in Muggle London. His pointy nose, haughty sneer, and razor sharp wit are the same. But his wariness, vulnerability, and melancholy are all new—not to mention the ring on his bottom lip. Harry finds himself rapidly becoming obsessed with Draco Malfoy—again.
When Kingsley appoints Harry as Draco's new parole officer, Harry must investigate a dangerous figure from Draco's past while grappling with the reality that he's falling in love with Draco. Harry must come to terms with his sexuality, a lifetime of repressed trauma, and the realization that the Ministry is not what he thought it was, all while finding a way to protect Draco and their burgeoning relationship.

Summary
Shadows all around Severus, close and they crowd him. They're playing tag with him, trying to catch up, watching from the parking lot. They have faces and voices, and they also know what Severus ate for breakfast and who he talked to in his sleep.
