Jeon Jungkook is just too good too beat.
No matter how hard Hoseok tries, he just can't oust him from the top position on the Guild leader-boards, permanently stuck at number two. It doesn't matter that this is the closest he's ever come, doesn't matter that they've both been breaking records, week in, week out, all anybody cares about in the Guild is relatives. His family don’t see what he has achieved, only that he has lost. The winter season is fast approaching, and they make it very clear to him that if he doesn't make first rank soon, there will be consequences.
Why can't the bastard let him win, just this once?

Or, Hoseok hates Jeon Jungkook more than anything. Hoseok is also in love with JK, the online friend who he has never seen in person, though they call nearly every night, but JK is in love with someone else, the mystery hunter he's too shy to even speak too.
And in the end, desperation pushes Hoseok to do exactly what he was warned not to: something stupid.

Summary
Jungkook wakes up to the sound of himself screaming, which is alarming on so many levels. His eyes open immediately and he bolts upright. He doesn’t know what he’s expecting, but it definitely isn’t the sight of himself, lying beside him, wide-eyed and terrified. Jungkook recoils in horror.
“What!?” Jungkook can’t help but say, completely panicked. He nearly misses the way that his voice - isn’t his voice. It’s Hoseok’s voice.

Summary
“I wanted to ask you…” Jungkook begins, gaze still locked on the phone. Then, sheepishly, it shifts back to Hoseok. “...if you’ll help me learn English.”
What?
A few seconds pass filled only with Hoseok blinking and Jungkook waiting with baited breath. Hoseok waits for- He doesn’t really know what he’s waiting for. This to make sense to him? For Jungkook to reveal that he’s kidding and tell Hoseok the real reason he’s here? To wake up from a coma after hitting his head too hard into his headboard while reviewing choreographies and trying to figure out just what his eyes were spying that wasn’t perfect?
Regardless, Hoseok isn’t finding any of these things. So to make sure Jungkook doesn’t suffocate from holding his own breath, he supplies, “Jungkookie, did you hit your head?”

Usually Jungkook exists solely as a fog behind his eyes. Present, but elsewhere. If he's in rehearsal, he's on stage; if he's doing interviews, he's pretending he's in their dorm, talking to managers he knows; if he's on stage, well, he's vividly present on stage, but even then he gets lost in the lights. It’s strange, now, to be achingly real wherever Hoseok touches him, every brush of fingers a bright path in the darkness.

Hoseok would in no way call himself a hero. Sure, his kind nature results in him offering to help pretty much anyone who asks, but he doesn’t actively seek out situations in which he can save the day. He’s a nice guy, but he isn’t stupid. Putting himself in harm’s way is not on his list of priorities. But right now, he can’t just sit here and watch this child be kidnapped. He has to do something.
In which Hoseok has pepper spray, and single father Jungkook is just trying to go home.

Hoseok liking men isn't the problem, it's that Hoseok likes men and hasn't told Jungkook he likes men and now Hoseok has a man in his bed and Jungkook is listening to them, hearing all the pretty little noises Hoseok makes, hearing him moan and pant and whimper, hearing him talk dirty and giggle when he gets curses in response.
Hoseok liking men isn't the problem, it's that Jungkook is not the men that Hoseok likes.
