Summary
Steve’s left staring at the kid- Peter, his brain helpfully reminds him. The kid is staring back.
“So, you’re, like, Captain America, huh?” Peter asks, and he looks a little starstruck but less so than he did when he’d stared at Tony Stark’s jet taking off.
“Uh, yeah.” Steve says, staring hard at a spot just past the kid’s shoulder as he shoves his hands as deep as they can go into the pockets of his jeans. “Call me Steve.”
“Cool.” Parker breathes, and Steve tries not to think about just how badly this is going to go.
Aka Steve Rogers' American Tour Of Waiting For His Brainwashed Boyfriend To Come Back And Blowing Up Hydra is interrupted when Tony Stark dumps Peter Parker into his lap.

Summary
Supergrandpas knit, adopt animals, attend the therapy they need, are kind of assholes and ultimately just really love each other.

“We couldn’t have animals Before.” Steve says, eyes wide and innocent as he settles his chin between Missy’s shoulders, his arms wrapped around her giant fluffy body where she’s seated up on the couch next to him. Bucky knows the game Steve is playing, and he’s more than willing to play along.“Yeah, Stevie here had horrible allergies.” Bucky contributes, patting at Steve’s shoulder in a faux consoling gesture. “Couldn’t get near someone who’d been around a fuzzy animal, let alone the animal itself. Plus Hydra definitely never let me have a pet.” He widens his eyes and looks sad for dramatic effect.

Summary
“You’re a dumbass,” Bucky says from his very nice vantage point on the wall above Steve. Steve, the asshole, must have spied Bucky out of the corner of his eye or something, because he doesn’t even respond except to wag his tail slightly faster. Bucky can still wistfully remember the halcyon days where he could sneak up on Steve and make him jump with a word.
“Yeah, well, who’s the one that came running to help the dumbass?” Steve counters.
“I didn’t come running,” Bucky sniffs, as Steve says, “Another dumbass, that’s what,” in a tone that is altogether too triumphant.

Summary
Bucky had heard of Hydra. Everyone had heard of Hydra: they were the unicorn hunters down near the border. The last thing Bucky wanted to do was get mixed up with hunters, but he was out of options. Hydra hunted unicorns, hunters needed virgins, and that was about the only thing Bucky had left to sell. If that’s what it took to get his mom and sister out of their dying town he'd do it.
Indentured to Hydra, deep in the wilds of the hunting preserve, far from the life he’d known and responsible for luring unicorns to their deaths, Bucky had never been more alone.
Until he met the Warden.
Wardens enforced the hunting laws, had done ever since the country had nearly torn itself apart over the discovery that unicorns--beloved creatures, conduits to the gods above--could be turned into powerful magical devices. Under Steve’s eagle eye Hydra didn’t get away with anything and he was a constant presence, watching over the hunts. But Steve didn’t treat Bucky like a hunter. Steve genuinely seemed to care about him. Steve was always there when Bucky needed him and suddenly Bucky wasn’t so alone.
