When Jason said, "This was never going to work out…I'm sorry, I'm never going to be the hero you want me to be. I have every confidence in you that you'll stay the hero that I know you are", it had hurt like hell. Roy wanted to scream at him that he was only a hero because Jason broke him out of a cell and kept him honest about his sobriety; that he'd never wanted Jason to be anything but himself and that'd been more than enough; that this didn't have to be an ending - but in the end, he'd let him go, because you can't keep a bat in a cage and claim that you love it.
And, you know what? Maybe, if they'd never fucked, Roy could've walked out of this without feeling like he'd been shot in the chest - but they had…multiple times…all over Starfire's ship and Gotham's rooftops.

Summary
Jason Todd and Roy Harper are gathering intel in Mid-July in Happy Harbor. It's unbearably hot, so they decide to put a pause on the mission and go to the only place that is close: Mount Justice. Thankfully the Young Justice team is away on a far off planet doing some mission, and Nightwing is too busy with his own drama to worry about the Mountain, so it's just them, broken AC and a pair of small shorts on Jason that drives Roy crazier than he would like to admit.
