“He’s armed,” is all he says into the phone before standing from his spot. He shoves his phone into his pocket and steps out, hands raised.
Sure enough, the man has a gun pointed at him, but if he looks closely enough…
Buck squints. Color him surprised.
“Is that you—”
“Don’t!” The man yells, jerking his hand with the gun aggressively. “Don’t you dare fucking say my name, Buckley.”
In which things get bad fast when Buck's neighbor breaks into his apartment thinking that he isn't home.

Summary
Buck was aware of three things when he woke up that day. The first was that he was in hospital, again. The second was that he had no idea how he got there. And the third was that he wasn't alone. There was a man with an LAFD t-shirt holding his hand. But that made no sense. Why would an LAFD firefighter be all the way in Peru?
OR
Buck is hurt at work and loses nine years of his life. He can't remember his husband, his family or any of his friends, and they're all hoping he gets his memory back soon.
