“Shut up!” Shinya grabs his face, ocean eyes in a desperate attempt to locate the violet ones beneath the crimson. “Shut up…” he breathes, heart clenching at the sight of a face that he once adored, those lips that he’d have given anything to taste just once.
“Lovesick,” the demon clicks his tongue, grinning. “Go ahead, kiss him. Just as selfishly as you’ve kept him alive.”
“I didn’t—” he begins, clamping his mouth shut just then, realising that he must not let the demon get below his skin. “Guren,” he whispers then, “come back to me, please.”

in the eyes of humanity that remained, the war was nothing but the fall of hiiragi clan. they'd seen their end at the hands of vampires and the betrayal of guren ichinose who was later stabbed to death too.
but that was all they knew.
one thing that they'll never know, shinya believes, is the fact that the powerful entity chained below in the dungeons was guren himself - still alive and battling his inner demons.

“You know,” Shinya teases breathlessly, riding Guren at a faster pace now and looking down at him under lust-heavy lids, “when you look at me like that, it almost - ah - makes me think you might like me, Guren.”
Guren chuckles, reaching up and slipping rough fingers through soft white hair, pulling Shinya down for a kiss. “Let’s not get carried away, now.”
Shinya laughs against his lips before they melt into a hot, deep kiss. Shinya keeps rocking and Guren keeps moving with him, their tongues entwining and sliding together in a heated dance they mastered long ago, and Guren wishes they could stay like this forever. In his wildest, sweetest dreams, he imagines a peaceful world where he and Shinya can live normal lives together, no demons or vampires or angels or monsters around to ruin it all. Just him, Shinya, and the rest of their lives to do whatever the hell they want together.
But that’s a pipe dream and he knows it. He’s always known it.
