Summary
When the next day comes around, there’s the smell of freshly-cooked rice and eggs. You’ve woken up early to make breakfast. You’re not the best cook.
Still, you set the dining table and place your feelings over plates with cut apples or pears or tangerines instead of words. You place the eggs there. You place the rice. Here, you say. Here, look at this: can’t you see how much I love you? Eat well, please. Always.

Kim Dokja gulps nervously because is the man seriously asking him if Kim Dokja knows that he’s a wanted terrorist?? Kim Dokja shakes his head a few times in quick succession.
Epilogue!AU in which Kim Dokja returns from being constellation-ed without his memories except his name and Yoo Joonghyuk finds him three years later.

He closes his eyes, and after almost four years of hoping for more, he gets his wish.
When he’s awake yet again but with a complete memory of who he was and the man he became, he finds himself on the sofa with a blanket over him. Around him, his precious family is sleeping, littered comfortably on the carpeted floor with their own comforters. The sun shines through the semi-transparent curtain and the glass walls, and there’s a delicious scent wafting from over the kitchen.
Kim Dokja can see Yoo Joonghyuk’s broad back from where he’s sitting at and remembers reading 1864 versions of him, remembers him declaring that he wants to meet him in that 0th turn, when there shouldn’t have been 1864 turns at all. Kim Dokja remembers being chosen, and he remembers choosing this man too, over and over again.

Summary
The two children began to bicker, a scene so familiar Yoo Joonghyuk had long learned to tune their voices out. But the thing was, it had never been about him.
It still isn’t, he reminded himself, staring down at their small hands clutching the fabric of his pants. This isn’t for him.
Kim Dokja and Yoo Joonghyuk swap bodies. A few things come to light.

Bookmarker's Notes
Yoo Joonghyuk didn’t tend to linger on past regressions too much. They were in the past for a reason; to serve as lessons, reminders of his failures and what he lacked. A regression was a new beginning, but it also meant the end to a different story. A story that was his, nonetheless.
Every time he regressed, a piece of him was left behind to die.
* * * * *
Humans are selfish in a way that can't be explained through mere words. They will always seek another, a companionship. Yoo Joonghyuk had thought that he was no longer human anymore. He had thought that he would do just as well on his own.
Perhaps that was just a quiet wish of his.

Summary
Kim Dokja is back and left to ponder such things like fitting in and making amends. None of this proves easy. He was dead for too long and it's common knowledge that resurrection is a lengthy process. Especially because Kim Dokja was someone who buried himself at the age of 15 and didn't hope for anyone to care.

And Kim Dokja was so sure he knew what his companions were doing.
They were the people who saw him walk away and throw himself under the bus and so they thought they had to bind him in place. To hang him up to the wall like a mind map assembled by a mad man with many red strings that connected him to them. And Kim Dokja felt like he was made of those fragments, those papers pinned to a wall that all came together to form a picture of a single man.
And Kim Dokja couldn't blame them. He was already convinced to stay but his friends wore it on their faces, the thought that they were people who didn't do a good job of convincing before.
After all this time, Kim Dokja couldn't hide it anymore from them, the person he was all this time. He was someone who'd buried himself at the age of 15.
And then those people, they took the corpse of a man, breathed life into him. And Kim Dokja was a living man again, a man who was willing to sacrifice his life for others.
He still gave up on his life so easily. But they didn't. And after yet another chance at living that his companions gave him, Kim Dokja couldn't refuse it. This time he had to become truly alive to be able to repay the kindness he was given.
And maybe that was what his conclusion, the epilogue, actually meant.

Summary
When the light falls upon Kim Dokja, he snarls at Lee Seolhwa and Yoo Joonghyuk. Four wings hover low over his shoulders, something desperate in the way Kim Dokja uses them to press the trembling children to his chest. The whites of his eyes are dyed black, pupils encased by a golden ring.
The omega bares his teeth. Blood drips from his canines.
Something churns in Yoo Joonghyuk’s stomach.
Kim Dokja’s irregular heat strikes during the apocalypse. Without a companion to help him, Kim Dokja channels it out through indiscriminate carnage.
(The dokkaebi ought to think twice before laying a hand on his kids.)
