Summary
When Shadow takes off with Sonic’s limiters that Nine had given him, Sonic doesn’t remember the tidbit of information Shadow told him about his Prism energy and ends up being stuck in Ghost Hill... which has some very unforeseen consequences.
Aka Sonic gets stuck in Ghost Hill but the place has a big time offset (like how Sonic was in Boscage for only a day but when he returns to New Yoke it’s been far longer for them) which results in Sonic’s mental state taking quite the major blow.
And make sure to read the small note at the beginning as it’s an integral effect to reading this. (I hope that wording makes sense)

Summary
It’s been years after the war with Eggman and yet nobody has found Sonic. Everybody assumes he’s dead, even Tails is giving up hope, when in reality he’s been alive the entire time. Well, kind of... It’s more like he’s been in a loop of drowning and then coming back to life.
One day while investigating a years old and seemingly abandoned Eggman base, Shadow finds something he didn’t expect: Something he could only assume was Sonic’s corpse.
Imagine his surprise when, in an attempt to give Sonic a proper burial, he comes back to life in his arms seconds after obtaining him.
Sneaking Sonic off the base, he delivers him to Tails in hopes that Sonic will recover from most of his trauma and regaining his memories in the process.
Tails then has to deal with a mostly amnesiac and traumatized Sonic.
