Jamie is 13 when he meets Miles and instantly takes a liking, soon after introducing him to his family which begins a friendship between the two family's causing them to spend birthdays, Christmas's and many celebrations together. Alex who is shy and introverted makes a friendship with Miles who is two years older, but Alex doesn't see Miles as family despite how close they are.
