Summary
Call it karma or a divine intervention- at this point, it didn't really matter. What mattered was that Shang Qinghua managed to survive the disasterous electrocution unscatched. Seemingly, the only actual loss was the sudden deletion of a chapter he'd been working on.
However, it soon turns out that in that moment, a different life was lost- because in this world, every action has consequences. As such, Shang Qinghua has no choice but to watch over his own creation, trying to guide him through the various obstacles of the modern times.

The moment Mobei-Jun saw them, he knew they were true. Those wretched rumors. Despise himself a sneer formed in his face. Teeth itching to sink into soft skin.
The arrays made specifically to repel his magic could as well have Shang Qinghua's name engraved on them with how precise he was at making them. Every line crudely drawn to keep him and his people out, every stroke carefully infused with Shang Qinghua's singnature qi feels like a coy last game in this little chase they have been keeping for too long already. As if trying to coax him to go inside and retrieve him faster.
