Summary
Three months earlier, another cluster of commissions had kept Olruggio working late enough that Qifrey had become all too needy. Olruggio had told him, in a moment of exasperation, that if he was going to get like this every time work interfered with their sex life, he might as well make him something to keep him occupied.
Qifrey had taken him seriously. Worse, Olruggio had taken himself seriously.
Or: Olruggio comes home unexpectedly in the middle of the night after being away for some time and discovers exactly how much use Qifrey has gotten out of his rather inventive substitute.

Summary
Qifrey’s hand disappears from his, leaving the skin of his hand bereft of the comfort he had settled into. It settles against his cheek, lifting his eyes up from where they had found themselves staring at the way Qifrey’s foot rested against his shin — still with some tension, a lingering fear they had yet to fully overcome, but still a casual touch, initiated by him rather than pulling away as though his flesh had been singed — to the reassurance of his kind features.
“You don’t have to worry, Olly,” Qifrey assures, lifting his other hand to kiss his knuckles. “I’ll be fine, I promise.”
Now that he's able to live freely, Qifrey has a request to make.

Summary
How many times had Qifrey turned away Olruggio’s concern? How many times had he lied to keep the promise they’d made? How many times had Qifrey had to look Olruggio in the eyes and deny his bleeding heart, to pretend like he didn’t want his Watchful Eye more than he wanted air, just to stay safe?
It kept him alive. Far more importantly, it kept his promise to his radiant star. Qifrey had to keep telling himself that. It was the only way he could endure the ordeal of being fussed over, of being discovered and forgotten in cycles, of being loved by a man he’d taken everything from. The only way he could stand to dig his fingernails into his palm and pretend Olruggio’s self-sacrificing obsession was a one-sided ordeal.
But what happened when that constant, crawling feeling of roots and gnarls in Qifrey’s skin no longer forced him to be patient?

Dick finds Jason in the basement, behind a locked laboratory door, bound, gagged, blindfolded, earmuffed, hooded, and writhing like a bitch in heat.
He could stop right there. If he steps back now, goes back on his decision, asks Bruce for backup, or tries to carry Jason away after sedating him, Jason will be safe.
...or he could keep going, take advantage of the situation, fuck a pup into Jason to make him into his personal cow-bitch. Jason won't even know.
