Summary
Neuvillette does not understand the appeal of 'love'.
It is an irrational, fickle, indescribable thing. It is distinctly human... and it feels foreign to him.
But so is the feeling that settles in his chest when he looks upon the Duke of Meropide. Whenever they hold hands. Whenever their lips brush together.
Perhaps 'love' is an apt descriptor after all...

Summary
"Apakah–" sebuah isak tangis berhasil lolos dari bibir Madame Furina, "apakah kau bersumpah akan terus mencintai Duke Wriothesley sampai– sampai kematian memisahkan kalian...?"
"Kematian tak akan menjadi penghalang," Neuvillette mengoreksi. "Bahkan ketika cintaku telah berpulang, aku akan terus mencintainya sebagaimana tanah mensyukuri turunnya hujan."
Hari ini, Neuvillette akan menikahi seorang jenazah.

Summary

Summary
Compared to others (humans, his friends, his husband), time doesn't touch him—at least physically, because the Neuvillette from hundred years back could never put a name on this ache in his heart, unlike the Neuvillette of today who has known the joys and sorrows of mortality.
Wriothesley won't be half a century twice. He won't be the same age twice, he won't be the same age thrice, he won't be the same age forever, because he's, first and foremost, mortal.
And Neuvillette aches.
Time spares no one but the immortal, and yet Neuvillette still aches for his beloved.
