Summary
seonghwa has always known that something’s a little different with him.
the first time that he realised what was different with him was when he hugged his halemoni the day after she had gone to the hospital. he remembers his mother telling him to be gentle with her, to hug her carefully because she was in a lot of pain. when he did, he felt her aches down to his very bones and he watched as his grandmother looked at him in surprise as the pain transported from her body to his. he was only six at the time, he barely understood it, but he can still remember how he felt, how much he hurt while he hugged her and took the pain away.
“seong-ah,” she had told him in a quiet voice, making sure that even his parents couldn’t hear. “you have to be careful with this. you’re very powerful, agi, very special. i don’t want anyone to ever use you to help themselves.”

seonghwa was born blessed (or cursed, depending on who you ask) with the ability to take away others' pain.

Summary
From closer, it’s clear that Minho is about his age. He’s handsome— very much so— in an untouchable sort of way. Straight nose, sharp eyes, a defined cupid’s bow. He looks sculpted rather than born. Jisung might shrink under the weight of his presence if the situation were different.
Knowing that Minho is dying ruins the illusion of perfection.
Jisung answers an ad online reading: "I'm going to die, but there's a lot of things I haven't done yet that I don't want to do alone."

Summary
“Jisungie keep you up?” Changbin grinned, and the harsh fluorescents overhead caught in the corners of his mouth. “Does he kick?”
Minho glanced up, and his glare must’ve been harsher than he meant it; Changbin’s joking smile faltered in a blink. Minho softened his gaze with a shrug. “Couldn’t sleep,” he lied, and the rumble of his voice through his head hurt.
This migraine was a bit worse than his usual, but he could—he would—get through the day. If that meant lying to the others, then so be it. When the day was done, he could take some painkillers and sleep the rest of it off. Until then, he would be fine.
Changbin tilted his head. “You look like Channie-hyung,” he said, thoughtful. “Doesn’t suit you.”
______
In which Minho doesn’t want the others to worry about him, and they take care of him anyway.

Summary
“You could see drinking directly from the source akin to drinking wine", Seonghwa explained. "Most will have a glass here and there, some even every weekend, but it is generally frowned upon to overindulge.”
“And how about you?”
“Me?”
Hongjoong swallowed.
“Are you… fond of a glass of wine?”
Or: Ex-drug addict Hongjoong will do whatever it takes to not let himself or the people he loves fall back into the life they worked hard to escape from.
Vampire Seonghwa has one rule: he does not drink from humans anymore.
They are good at breaking down each other's resolves.
