Original this was for the 2016 Dean/Cas Secret Santa Exchange but the person who I was assigned to dropped out and everyone knows stuff happens but here it is. Loosely based on the prompt: After a blizzard shuts down the town and leaves them stranded at the Bunker, Dean takes the opportunity to teach Castiel how to build a snowman. (And then warms him up with a cup of hot chocolate...)

“So get this,” Sam says, looking far too peppy for someone who has had less than three hours of sleep. “An entire family of three disappears in Colorado. They were on a road trip from Denver to Carson city and just never arrived. They definitely stopped off for gas in Arbington, but that’s the last anyone’s seen of them. Car showed no signs of a forced entry. Should be right up our alley don’t you think?”
“Maybe?” Dean grunts, trying to blink his nagging headache away. He signals to the waitress to get him another coffee, dragging Sam’s laptop towards himself. “We’re only about six hours away. Might be worth checking out; I don’t know.”

Castiel shrugs and Dean scoots closer along the hood, until his left arm is pressed against Castiel's right, until Dean's thigh slides right along the side of Castiel's waist. They sit in silence for a moment, Dean fixed on the flickering bulb in the motel's red and white sign. He's painfully aware of time passing, each minute out here in the quiet, one minute closer to when he'll have to go back to the motel room. Sam is asleep upstairs, room 255, directly behind Dean, one sprint and a tricky door handle away. Sam is a light sleeper and he'll notice Dean is gone, soon.
"What are you thinking?" Castiel asks.
Dean turns to blink at him slowly. "Oh you know," he says. "Chicks. Dudes."
