Summary
Mike rolls onto his side, so that they’re facing one another. Mike is looking at him, in that way that he does, that makes Will’s heart hammer inside his chest like nothing else, his eyes flicking over every inch of Will’s face like he’s a page in a book Mike’s trying to memorize.
“What are you doing?” Will murmurs, for the second time that night.
Mike’s voice is equally as breathless. “Stargazing.”

“I mean, obviously I’m gonna do it. I always do it. But I probably need a photo or reference, and my…” Will trails off and sighs, gaze landing on the dusty box sitting on top of his desk. Mike’s eyes naturally follow, looking a little lost. “My camera’s broken. So I guess I’ll be drawing my figurines again—”
“I could help you,” Mike interrupts.
And there it is. This is why Will should stop complaining out loud.
aka mike offers to be will's reference, they talk about mike's self-esteem issues, and more shenanigans with paint ensue

Summary
Will needs a date to his mom's wedding. Mike volunteers.
“I have an idea,” says Mike.
Ice cubes form in Will’s stomach. “How dangerous is it? Like, should I call Dustin to talk you down, or should I call Nancy to be ready to drive us to the hospital?”
“No,” says Mike, “you can’t tell anyone or it won’t work.”
“Or what won’t work?” Will asks. It’s like picking up a rock you know a spider will be under.
Mike gets up and closes Will’s door. Hopper doesn’t make them keep it open but sometimes Will does anyway, because every now and then lying around alone with Mike on his bed just makes his chest ache too much. If the door is open he can tell himself You can’t do anything right now, someone will see.
Mike leans back against the door. His eyes are lit up with that special maniacal gleam that the Wheelers get right before they do something insane, like when Nancy says, “Then we have to go kill Vecna ourselves,” or whatever. “Take me to the wedding,” says Mike.
“Yeah,” says Will slowly, “you’ll be at the wedding. Obviously.”
“As your date."

Summary
“You’re not boning, though, right?” he says, suddenly. He doesn’t know why he feels such an urge to bring it up again, as if the thought of Mike boning is not something that is CODE RED #1 at the top of Will's list of things to absolutely never think about. But also. Look–
“What? No, of course I’m not boning,” Mike splutters, turning a violent shade of scarlet, “how would I even hide that from you, I’m with you all the time–”
And then he falls silent, so fast that Will gets tonal whiplash from how fast Mike just went from saying boning over and over again to just clamping his mouth shut and staring at the wall across from them.
Will's trying his hardest to make it through fall semester in one piece. Unfortunately for his degree, he's being haunted by maybe-feelings for his best friend (metaphorically), and also a maybe-ghost with rather abysmal fashion sense (literally).

Summary
In Mike’s defense, Will should know by now not to leave him alone for an extended period of time.
Yeah, maybe Mike is snooping around his room a little bit. But he’s bored, okay? Will left to tell his mom something or another ten minutes ago. And it’s not like Mike is digging through his drawers or anything— he’s only using resources available to the naked eye. Is that really snooping? He doesn’t think so.

Mike comes across a notebook that he was definitely not supposed to find. What else can he do besides steal it?
