Summary
Now that they are teammates, Will has come to know two things about Mack. First, that he's quickly becoming the closest friend Will has ever had. And second, that he talks an ungodly amount of bullshit.
or, the one where Will overhears Mack making the audacious claim that he'd make "a fucking baller husband, bro" and he can't help but fixate. Hard.

Summary
He vaguely wonders about the possibility of using Grindr. Nico thinks about it more often than he should. It seems like it would be so freeing to be able to use an app to hook up, to scratch the itch that never goes away during the season. On the other hand, it’s risky - people could recognize him. Even if he doesn’t use any face photos, which he obviously wouldn’t - he’s sat through too many lectures from the Devils’ PR team to be that dumb - if he were to meet up with someone, it would end in disaster if they knew who he was. He’d like to think that most people in Jersey probably wouldn’t recognize him; hockey isn’t the most popular sport in the states, and especially in New Jersey, people seem to care much more about football. On the other hand, there’s no way of knowing that he hadn’t accidentally matched with the Devils’ biggest fan and he’d be screwing himself over.
On the other other hand, though, it can’t hurt to just make an account, right?

Summary
He’s almost at his own door when the muffled sound of his own name catches his attention.
“ —like an idiot. Scott Hunter is right next door.”
Scott pauses, blinking. He then finds himself unconsciously stepping towards the door his name was uttered behind— before he abruptly freezes, eyes locking on the room number.
It’s the room directly next to his own. The one Rozanov had walked out of just this morning.
But that voice… it’s vaguely familiar, and it certainly doesn’t belong to Rozanov.
Or: Scott Hunter has the unfortunate experience of rooming next to Ilya Rozanov at the 2011 All-Stars.

Summary
Shane gets married to Rose—a PR marriage, after running from Rozanov’s apartment. He continues seeing Ilya, sporadically, painfully.
A few months, maybe a year in, unable to sleep, at 4 am he checke his phone to a sting of texts from Ilya. “You snore? Turn in your sleep? She knows. I don’t. I wish we could trade. For one night.”
They both want more. They need more. The need becomes even more urgent when the plane carrying Ilya and his team makes an emergency landing.
