Summary
Spock opens the box belonging to Ambassador Spock, which had been delivered to him. On the top of the contents within is a red fabric/leather bound book with silver embossing in Vulcan calligraphy, declaring, Nam-tor nashozhika t’nash-veh, “This is my logic”.
Written for the 50th Anniversary of Star Trek, and the Old Married Spirk Challenge 2016.

Summary
Admiral Kirk, having successfully boarded Commander Kruge’s hijacked ship with the resurrected Captain Spock in tow, has retired to his new quarters for the first half of their eight-hour flight to Vulcan. Unable to rest on account of the dramatic and conflicting emotions brought on by his husband’s miraculous reincarnation, fragile state, and uncertain future, Kirk is unexpectedly visited in the night by the one person aboard the ship whom he’s not supposed to see.
Set near the end of Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, after the crew’s takeover of the Klingon ship and before their arrival at Vulcan for the ritual re-fusion of Spock’s body and soul. An attempt to reconcile the obviously living and conscious reincarnated Spock with the assessment that his mind is “a void” without the spirit he entrusted to Dr. McCoy. Who is Spock between the Genesis planet and Vulcan, and what’s really going on within him?

An aged Kirk, waiting at home while his bondmate is away at a seminar, befriends a neighbor woman and her young son.
[He felt for the bond; it did not have the withdrawn quality of meditation. In fact, now that Kirk was not shielding, he realized that Spock was doing a very poor job of covering his distress.
Kirk hurried to Spock's study and opened the door quietly. Spock was kneeling beside his desk, his face buried in his hands.
