Summary
Victoria looked down, her eyes taking in the body of her lover. She successfully distracted herself from the need to meet Trinity's eyes, that were absolutely piercing through her.
“I had a bad dream” She finally admitted.
Trinity felt confused but she just let out a laugh.
“Nightmares get you horny?” She asked and shook her head in disbelief.
“Not that kind of bad dream” She heard in an answer.
Victoria was now tracing circles with her finger on Trinity's hips, which she sometimes did when she tried not to say something she wanted to. -

Summary
She’s tracking Trinity with heavy lidded eyes as she leans across the bar in the pursuit of new drinks for the both of them, which was heart-flutteringly chivalrous right up until the moment some blonde girl showed up at Trinity’s side and started twirling her hair and leaning into her space and laughing like Trinity is the funniest person she’s ever met when Victoria knows whatever she said was only mildly humorous at best. Then she reaches across and touches Trinity’s arm, and Victoria would feel embarrassed about the way that she’s ready to do something that would probably get her arrested if she didn’t know for certain how much Trinity likes it about her.
Sure enough, as if on cue, Trinity turns to look at her over the girl’s shoulder and flashes her a tiny grin and a wink that allow Victoria to see this as the challenge that it is.
This is one reason why they work so well together: Trinity loves to rile Victoria up, Victoria loves to be riled up.

Summary
Despite literally all of her best instincts screaming for her not to, Trinity lets out a long, drawn out sigh, and asks, “What are you doing next Friday?”
Victoria’s eyes narrow in suspicion. “Why?”
“We’re going on a field trip, Crash,” she says. “It’s time to make your debut at Dyke Night.”
Yolanda’s gonna be so pissed.

Summary
Yolanda can handle chaos that’s malleable enough to bully into control.
She can handle chaos if she gets the final say.
She can handle chaos that’s winnable.
None of those things happened in that OR. She went in with a rigid understanding that she was going to locate the problems and solve them once and for all, that this man just needed a good enough surgeon with good enough instincts to achieve a good enough outcome, that Yolanda and her brain and her hands could finally pivot him toward recovery. She legitimately, sincerely believed that she would find a way.
She did not find a way.
She could not find a way.
