Summary
Yeonjun’s eyebrows were all scrunched together and his plump lips were turned down into a frown. Combined with his pink hair, the effect was sort of similar to one of those Angry Bird game characters. Beomgyu had to force down a laugh.
“I just can’t believe that you let some random guy break into your house, and then made him dinner and let him stay the night. I knew you were stupid, Gyu, but that’s an astounding lack of self-preservation,” Yeonjun said.
Beomgyu had to admit that it looked bad on paper, but there was something about Taehyun that just seemed inherently trustworthy. There was a sort of innocence about him that Beomgyu felt inclined to protect. He remembered the shine of the cat hybrid's round, grey eyes, and the pointed teeth at the corners of his mouth. Beomgyu had never seen him smile before that moment.

Summary
After the War of Winters, Beomgyu believes he will never see Yeonjun ever again.
But when a letter brings him to the palace, they meet once again... Only, Yeonjun is now the king, and he needs Beomgyu to heal his war-torn soul so that, perhaps, he will be able to love and be happy once more.
Beomgyu will do anything to see that through, even if it means sacrificing every bit of himself; even if it means keeping all of his feelings away.
(Or; A tale of two souls, navigating grief, loss, and love, and learning throughout it all, that there is space in their lives for the other soul to fit right in).

Summary
“Beomgyu? What are you doing here?”
Beomgyu yelps, shoving his heart into his bag and zipping it up so quickly he nearly closes it on his finger.
“Hyung!” he says, as brightly as one can when their hands are covered in blood.
Beomgyu's heart won’t stop (literally) running off to the guy he's in love with, and it’s getting real annoying.

“Hyung, can you hate me less?” He asked as he looked down, staring at the floor because he couldn’t bring himself to look at the elder in his eyes.
“I don’t hate you.” Yeonjun replied. It sounded like a lie, but it was the truth. Maybe all this time, the one Yeonjun hated the most was him himself.

Summary
“For what it’s worth, I think you can do it,” Taehyun said. “I think you can get into any school you want, and then you can get a job you don’t hate.”
“I don’t hate my job. I just hate that I’m doing it with my parents watching on the cameras. It feels like school is the only place I don’t have them breathing down my neck all the time.”
“Then you should try!” Taehyun insisted. “Study as hard as you can, get in somewhere good, and never look back.” There was a pause. “We could go to the same school.”
Beomgyu actually started to laugh at that, and Taehyun looked slightly offended. “Hey! What are you laughing at me for!?”
“I’m not laughing at you, I’m laughing at the idea that I could get nearly as good of scores as you. That’s delusional.”
“I told you, I think you can do it. You just have to apply yourself.”
“Life’s about more than just applying yourself, Taehyun,” Beomgyu said, laying down on the grass and staring at the purpling sky. “Sometimes you’re dealt the hand that you’re dealt, and you have to choose how to play from there. Not everyone is born with as many choices as you.”
