Summary
Late December, a couple of days past Christmas, though neither of them celebrated since Jeremy was Jewish and holidays weren’t really a thing at the Nest.
Despite that fact, Alvarez still secretly hid mistletoe around the dorm. “It was originally a Pagan tradition, though, feel free to use it for kissing purposes too,” she’d said with a smug smile. It was Jeremy’s fault really. He’d wallowed to her about his slight infatuation with Jean one night, sleep deprivation being as good as alcohol. Alvarez didn’t stop trying to set them up after that. She’d leave them alone in small spaces, tease them about acting like an old married couple, being what she thought was the perfect wingwoman.

Summary
Jeremy was used to helping Jean with his sensory overload, but he was not used to it being the other way around. He had gotten good at managing the noises that were always around him, but Jean, coming from the quiet of the Nest, hadn’t. He didn’t know the tricks that Jeremy picked up in his time at USC, though he was more than happy to learn them. Jeremy even bought him noise cancelling headphones to match his own. They seemed to be working well enough.

Summary
Jeremy had never heard the singing. In elementary school, when his friends heard the song that was stuck in their soulmate's head, he thought they were lucky to get it so soon. When his friends heard the singing in middle school, he thought he was just a late bloomer. When, in high school, his head was devoid of anything but his own thoughts, he accepted the fact that he didn’t have a soulmate.

Summary
The first and only time Jeremy Knox got red carded, no one was expecting it. It all started toward the end of their last game of the season, the first season that Jean Moreau was playing with them. It was strange that someone could ever work up the nerve to fight Jean Moreau. However, there they were, only a couple of minutes left on the clock, and someone tried to do just that.

Summary
Jean couldn’t get the knot to unravel in his chest as they got closer and closer to the banquet hall. He spotted the Raven’s bus as they parked. They were there. His former teammates were there. He didn’t know how the Nest had changed after he left, after Riko died, after Tetsuji resigned, but he still felt that guilt writhing in his stomach.

Summary
The first thing Jean Moreau fell in love with at USC were its winters.
Despite the temperature never dropping below 50 degrees, every warm, soft, cozy thing was brought out en masse. Fuzzy hats, puffy coats, baked good fresh out of the oven. And, Jean's favorite, fireplaces.
The Trojans indulged in the heat like they were on the brink of a new ice age. Jean understood the urge, though he knew their reasons were vastly different from his. The Moriyamas always did their best to make sure any sort of warmth was eradicated from the Nest. Even in the summer, not a sliver of the outside weather was allowed in. Jean hoped, prayed, that with the new management, no one would ever have to experience the permanent chill carved into his bones ever again. Now, after so many months, Jean swore he could still feel it. The frostbite gnawing at his organs.

Summary
The word “cheerful” had never been part of the Ravens’ vocabulary. At USC, it was practically ingrained in the Trojans. Jean had never seen so many people so happy all the time. It was a rarity Jean never thought he’d be a part of.
Even more of a rarity, was Jeremy Knox.
Jeremy Knox, the boy made up of smiles and laughter and unwavering trust.
Jeremy Knox, the physical embodiment of sunshine itself.
Jeremy Knox, the perfect opposite to the dark-as-pitch events of Jean’s past.
No, there was no one quite like Jeremy Knox.
