Eddie starts to feel it again. The euphoric feeling. He closes his eyes and lets it take over.
He can see him and Steve behind his eyelids. Their bodies are molded together with a faint metallic smell flooding his senses. Steve holds Eddie close, his lips attached to his neck. They are in the upside down. The sky is blue and dark. They are sat on a velvet chair, Eddie can’t tell where.
Real life Eddie can taste Steve. His hand moves to behind his neck. He can feel Steve hungrily kiss him as his body rocks down into him.

Steve has weird siren-like visions about Eddie after he’s bit by the demobat and it makes him act like a total dick until he realizes it’s because he wants Eddie

“Cool.” Steve repeats back casually, his cheeks now aching from how much he’s been smiling.

“This next one is for all you hopeless romantics out there.” Eddie says, stepping back looking down at the fret board before positioning his fingers over the strings for the opening notes. He looks back up and sees Steve standing beside Robin at the back of the gymnasium, her arm linked with his in comfort. Their eyes meet as Eddie leans back into the mic, “Use this song to tell that crush of yours how you really feel. I dare you.” He says firmly just as the drums start up behind him once he pulls back, his eyes leaving Steve's.

Eddie is in love with Steve who swears that each girl he brings around is the one. He gets dumped every time and it's up to Eddie to pick up the pieces and make him feel better, until finally it's not. Cue Eddie confessing his feelings via prom performance to make himself feel better, except it's already too late for Steve.

The prince’s eyebrows furrow as he speaks, he looks over at the jester with saddened eyes that are aware of a confession, “She’s everything. She’s everything and yet…” there’s a pause, the next words about to unveil a lamentable truth, one that could no longer be ignored. He takes a breath before meeting his eyes, “And yet, I’m not in love with her. She’s everything, but she’s not you.”
“Prince.” The jester starts with a sharp breath, his hand reaching for his arm to squeeze.
The prince shakes his head, “I cannot find my way to her as I have found my way to you. I simply cannot. And if I were to share a throne it would have to be with you. I want you to know, Eddie, if I were to have it my way...it would be you. You who I’d reign with.”
